The comments dont make any sense in spanish either....The central bank already restricts the ammount of money I can send home. It just means that it takes longer to do the things you want to do besides, I would be mad to deposit anything in any bank in argentina. At the end of the day, people with money will continue to keep it off- shore where it can grow. This governments' days are numbered!
Apr 28th, 2010 - 11:24 am - Link - Report abuse 0I'm not sure about the other 8+ banks, but HSBC has only been based in the UK since 1993 (after they'd bought Midland Bank), before that and to use their full name the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation was based in Hong Kong and Shanghai.

As long as this attitude prevails and Argentinians don't trust their own economy and don't want to pay tax then the economy and the country itself will remain a basket case...

Not at all, I have been dealing with legitimate small 'shop front' businesses....
I have also had dentists take my cash and put it straight into their pockets...
Not to mention the Prefectura that pocketed his 'overtime' when I payed it...
Compare with Chile where if you buy an icecream you get an official receipt...
unfortunately some greedy factors strain Argentine Economy !
