Increasingly positive outlook for Falklands cruise season

With only two months to go before the first cruise ship arrives in the Falkland Islands for the 2010/11 season the situation is looking increasingly positive.
An initial prediction of 58 visits to Stanley may this season in reality be closer to 75 (according to the latest schedule) while the smaller expedition ships are planning almost 100 outer island visits.

Inter American Press Association supports Clarin and La Nacion

The Inter American Press Association (IAPA), through its President Alejandro Aguirre, expressed concern about the intention of the national government of Argentina to “control the independent media”, describing several actions committed in recent weeks, as “a dangerous escalation against the freedom of expression that affects all citizens” in that country.

Catholic Church/Castro regime accord releases 32 political prisoners

US sales of existing homes plunge 27% in July, lowest level in ten years

Sales of existing homes in the US plunged 27.2% in July compared with June to their lowest level in more than 10 years, figures suggest. Home sales completed in the month stood at an annualised rate of 3.83 million, according to the National Association of Realtors (NAR).

Argentine government accuses Clarín and La Nación of conspiring with military regimes
