Now that the crisis occurs in developed countries, the IMF is very concerned about saving jobs.
It was not like that when Asia or Latin American countries were receding. In such cases the IMF only advice was to cut government spending and increase taxes, two policies that combined would cause unemployment to climb and economic growth to contract.
