As far as the Falkland Islands are concerned, please re-arrange the following phrase - 'breath' 'she's' 'her' 'wasting' :-)

    IR 20034 (Optional Module)

“Argentina doesn't want to negotiate. Argentina wants to take the Islands, against the will of the population. So what exactly is there to negotiate?” Discuss.

true all you say, but have you thought that Argentina is the only country that worries about Malvinas? Did you know that the average bristish citizen does not have a clue of where the Malvinas/falklands islands are?
better said, do you know anyone excluding South America that knows about your existence?

Argentina always fought to set free the america's from empires, in fact cede lands in name of self-determination (see Argentine/brasil war, thus the independence of chile, peru, bolivia and paraguay all territories of the Viceroyalty of the River Plate) and that's what we will still be doing, fighting for the right of self-determination of the ones that were expelled from Malvinas and liberate the lands from empire occupation.

Before the war you would have been correct, but the media attention from the war has ment that people know that the islands are close to Argentina, if no-one knows where argentina is, well that says more about Argentina than the UK.

“fighting for the right of self-determination of the ones that were expelled from Malvinas”
The so called islanders who were expelled(which infact were not.) self determination was not even a human right back then, as there were no human rights.

You are infact, fighting against self determination.

Juan. I suppose you could go and ask the Argentines who left the Falklands in 1833 if they want to return and exercise their rights to self-determination?

Go and find them, make sure they have a valid passport and arrange passage.

Now I know that many people in South America live long lives but good luck.

    Imbecile!

June still thinks that 13 rocks, 10 of them tropical constitute an empire? Interesting.

I want to see how he factors Argentina's claims to uninhabited South Georgia, South Sandwich, Antarctica into his anti-colonial struggle idealogdy.

Might be a bit hard since these territories are distinctly thin on the ground in brother Latin Americans being oppressed by the yoke of British Imperialism.

Even more intriguing is Junes claim that the outside world not being aware of another country or territory means its up for grabs by others, anybody want a slice of Micronesia or Helgioland?

maybe its time for the British to go back on the Heligoland-Zanzibar treaty and demand the return of Heligoland..

Re the g77 ... would I be right in saying that Argentina is the only country to have ever gone from 'developed' to 'developing'?

NO! Argentina was not “developed”, it was just a big GDP and it does not mean development.

I wonder if gorge has noticed that the Falkland Islands are British? His words might make some sense if the fictional “Malvinas” were Argentine. But then they are fictional. So I guess it's OK for gorge to claim his imaginary land.

Be careful with imaginary lands, gorge. When and if you ever wake up, you'll find you fall straight through them.

I've found the Islas Malvinas, it was renamed HMS Tiger Bay and was disposed of in 1986.

Juan, EVERYONE in the UK knows where the Falkland Islands are, some even know they are named after a village in the Kingdom of Fife.
Those who were too young to know about the time we kicked your ass in 1982 are now well aware of the oil exploration off the Falklands that is making many of us rich.
    GO ROCKHOPPER!!!
You bullying dago cowards are about to get yet another kicking!!!

Shall we hope the Botox Queen enjoys speaking to the UN General Assembly? Has hubby beaten her about enough that she'll remember what she's supposed to say?

Not that it will matter a great deal. Even if the GA pass a resolution such resolutions are not binding.

Even if the whole world agrees, what of it? Britain has stood alone, for what is right, before. Does Argentina, imbued with the ideals of Nazi Germany, think it can succeed where Nazi Germany failed? Not a chance!!

    Interesting:

    http://www.buenosairesherald.com/BreakingNews/View/45983

Both sides are being extremely silly at times in the ongoing clash over last week’s Supreme Court ruling to order Congress to press for the reinstatement of Santa Cruz prosecutor-general Eduardo Sosa (ousted in 1995). President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner is bordering on the theatre of the absurd when she calls a Supreme Court ruling “unconstitutional” while Cabinet Chief Aníbal Fernández had a characteristic run of mouth when he called the unwelcome decision a “coup d’état” — at this rate who is going to be granted political asylum first, Santa Cruz Governor Daniel Peralta or Chilean terrorist suspect Galvarino Sergio Apablaza Guerra?

    http://www.buenosairesherald.com/BreakingNews/View/45983

Mr and Mrs Kirchner are steering the country into dangerous waters. Aware as they surely are that the prospects of either one of them of getting enough votes in the elections that are scheduled for next year to enable them to renew their lease of the Pink House are decidedly bleak, they are flirting with the idea that their right to rule Argentina should not depend on anything as chancy as the whims of a notoriously fickle majority.

I feel sorry for the Buenos Aires Herald. It will only be a short time before they are charged with something. Will the Ks allow any “free press”? Not likely.

20 Typhoon, you're just an idiot.

...“Ah I see Jihad Jorge the Talib has returned. How are the planns for your 007 secret mission going? Haven't seen much of your plans recently”...

    - You haven't seen anything at all, have you! You'd better worry to see things in your house when you are out in another countries? LOL
