Spanish oil and gas company Repsol-YPF praised its Argentine YPF associates and said he was hopeful that “soon” the company “would discover hydrocarbons in the Islas Malvinas waters”, as has happened in Brazil. Read full article
Oil prices in Argentina have been frozen for several years now or only slightly adjusted which has created a significant investment deficit in oil and gas exploration while the country gobbles its proven reserves that are down to 3 to 5 years of current consumption.
That explains it all really........ it will be interesting to see what happens post-Chavez....
“ .... would discover hydrocarbons in the Islas Malvinas waters .....”
This rather looks like more propoganda as the Royal navy would get involved if Argentina attempted to drill in waters it had no sovereignty over!
So they'll drill in Argentine waters and try to con the population into thinking that they're actually doing so in the Falkland Islands territorial waters.
I wonder if the Argentine population is that gullible ??
To drill they need a rig... no-one is going to charter to them if they plan to use it in Falklands waters... before they drill they need a seismic survey.... I don't think Fugro will be interested in chartering to them... in or out of argentine waters.
could it be from guly-guly man a shyster or trickster in one of the lndian languages. British troops brought many lndian words into the English language, although sometimes in a slightly mangled state!
Anyhow,........ very interesting how two keen British posters (Cadfael and Isolde) can be sooo wrong about something sooo easy to check and confirm as the existence and etymology of a word in their own mother tongue….. English….
Imagine how mistaken they could be about a complicated issue as, for example, the Malvinas? :-)
I wouldn't worry too much about the oil think, We've just invented the crap powered car in the UK. We could sell you the technology and your government can power there cars by talking into the tank.
Kindly notice that Rockhopper shares has plunged 25% or so during last week. (from 5,50£ to 4.30£)
Maybe Argentina should consider buying shares if they plummet to a “good” price.
Ohhh. No………. I forgot………. Argentina can’t do anything :-)
ROFLMFAO!!!!!!
I didnt realise I'd catch so many gullible people!!
Hoy?
Think?
Hope you've now smacked your foreheads and emitted a long loud DUUUUUUHHH!!!!
