The Falkland Islands elected government sent a letter of support to Chilean President Sebastian Piñera and the people of Chile for the “fantastic work” carried out in the rescue of the 33 miners.

The letter was addressed through the British embassy in Santiago de Chile.

“On behalf of the people of the Falkland Islands, we would like to send a message of heartfelt thanks and support for the fantastic work that you have carried out in Chile by the rescue of the 33 miners in the Atacama. The whole world, including ourselves with a large Falkland population of Chilean people, has been watching in hope and praying for the success of this mission”

The letter was signed by MLA Sharon Halford, in representation of the Falkland Islands Legislative Assembly.

The Falkland Islands government, like many others, send good wishes and congratulations to the survivors of a potential disaster and their rescuers. Argentinians whine and bitch about that. Enough said.
