I've never read any of his books - I don't know whether they express any valuable thoughts. But in his political commentaries, he's quite superficial and uninteresting, an angry right-wing ideologue like so many columnists in right-wing Latin American magazines like Veja. Llosa reminds me quite a bit of the Brazilian columnist Reinaldo Azevedo.
Though it will still be interesting to see how he responds to argentinas attempts to prohibt him from talking about his position and ideas.
