Spain has told the United Nations Committee of 24 (C24) that despite the “impasse afflicting the Brussels process”, Madrid's goodwill allows regional co-operation with Gibraltar and UK to continue under the Tripartite Forum. Read full article
Spain like Argentina will not give up as long as Britain is perceived as weak, perhaps Spain would like to try [an Argentinian movement]
Or just close the gate again,, bowl movement might seem easy in the short term, but like Argentina the motions just won’t stop lol
What about Ceuta and Melilla? he was asked. If you can claim Gibraltar because it's pretty near then surely Morocco has an argument to claim Ceuta and Melilla?. The UN states that the people of Ceuta and Melilla have the right to self determination he replied. This is international law.
It doesn't however apply to Gibraltar because of the Treaty of Utrecht (er, erm....er where we willingly gave Gibraltar away) and the doctrine of the United Nations (er...erm...Self Determination)... er, where's my advisor gone..”
a) Ceded = To surrender possession of, especially by treaty. To yield; grant
b) Perpetuity = Time without end; eternity
Now we know that the Spanish, and indeed the Argentines, try to say that a deal is only a deal until the ink's dry, but we believe that a deal really is a deal !
The problems over the Falkland Islands and Gibraltar are, at the bottom line, very simple. The Falkland Islands are a territory that, justifiably, Argentina has been told it can't have. Gibraltar is a territory that, justifiably, Spain has been told it can't have. Why do they spend so much time and effort trying to get them? In a similar fashion, if you tell certain children that they can't have a sweet or a particular toy, they throw a tantrum. Screaming, shouting, stamping their feet, throwing their teddies out of their prams. This is Argentina and Spain. Spoiled brats!

So was called, according to the Treaty of Utrecht, until in 1830 started the usurpation of the British Government, convert a Spanish territory a British colony. Spain will never forget or recognize this thing, and always will claim, in perpetuity, according to the provisions of the Treaty.
Of course Spain is also aware that the UK will never voluntarily give up, shielded behind the settlers consent. And of course, Spain must always be prepared for ...
No, my beauty, @ 10, re. 8 & 9:
you proposed that 'Spain is aware that what Spain lost in a war, will recover in another' (#8)
My response was that Spain's lost possessions spread across much of the new world, etc, etc.
