“the couple was delighted to become the adoptive parents of two King Penguins”
Argentinean King penguins are smarter than Charles.

and who's paying for this “wedding gift”? The British taxpayers, but ahh, don't mind the austerity measures, let them bent over and work harder, those peasants love their “German” royal family, they must go to their land.

Queen of bad teeth (Isolde) Yeah, it's mine land, it's mine land, it's mine, it's mine...lol..idiot. look forward for more reactions from those bad teeth blowhards.

note. the ones from my country are also Germans, but what do I care. They don't get a dime from me.

Fido (here boy!) with the teeth fixation - try this

“ ... Rather than inviting presents, the couple have asked wedding guests and members of the public to dip into their pockets to support 26 organisations that comprise the couple's charitable gift fund, ...”

Do you know how stupid you look ?

Still sitting in the corner spitting venom. What is wrong with giving gifts at a wedding? Is that not the tradition in Argentina?

    # 3 Fiddler on the roof - “Yeah, it's mine land, it's mine land, it's mine, it's mine...”

Well, you Argies should know all about the mines on our land because you left so many of them behind when you had to retreat.
Hopefully, there will be a sizeable invoice landing in CFK's mailbox for the cost of clearance works.

So british, great for you SUBJECTS! But of a Crown, that is NOT of a colonial power! Then you claim self determination and send presents to YOUR colonial master? Very very very very interesting as another precedent!

@11 Allegedly - It is a civilised custom to give wedding presents, whether related to the happy couple or not. In fact, even the Argie goverment followed this practice :

”Silversmith Marcelo Toledo shows a case with flower-shaped salt shakers made out of sterling silver 07 May, 2004 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The group, composed of six different kind of flowers (daisy-pansy-hydrangea-pomegranate-orange blossom-glacier) will be the Argentine government's official wedding present in the wedding of Spanish Prince Felipe de Borbon with Letizia Ortiz next May 22nd in Madrid.”

So, does that mean that Argentina is serving YOUR colonial masters?
A very interesting precedent indeed ! LOL.

And what have the argies got to complain about,[you got KFC]
What more could you ask for lol.,,

“and how are the penguins living in UK??”

Lmao some of you Argys are so stupid it's hilarious. The penguins stay on the islands..They are “adopted” much like you can adopt a lion or lima when the adverts on TV come up. You don't physically get the lion mailed to your front door. The money you give is put towards keeping said animal in good health and you usually get some pictures of the animal and gift cards from that charity.

    Just....Lmao.

16 Allegedly - read the quote again - it says “The group.....will be the Argentine government's official wedding present....”.
If the quotation is de facto wrong then I apologise , but it looks alright to me.

By the way, this adds even more fun to the story:

The Argentine's wedding gift for William and Kate
A silver mate, in homage to wine, made by silversmith Marcelo Toledo will be the Argentine official gift for the wedding of Prince William with Kate Middleton, to be held next Friday in London.
The piece was shipped today and has been exhibited in New York, in the Collection Fortabat and Moscow and Shanghai last year, which saw nearly 5 million people around the world.
It is made with real silver in Argentina, and measures about 25 inches high. In its design, you can see a mate with a bunch of grapes, supported by angels or mermaids resting on a delicious fig leaf.

I'm sure that Kate and William will be grateful for the generosity of the Argentinian government as well as the Falkland Islanders.

    falklanders back to UK....

Where have I heard that before?

no Stick! think that is the best gift to brit: they will save a lot of money spend in defence, leave the colonialist image that UK have (be reconciled with the international community), and the falklander feels that their rights of “self determination” applies in brit lands. Everyone wins!

As tacky as British can be! Great, another element to prove your “distinct” identity as a “people”! And then you claim self determination? Wow, quite impressive. My God, so tacky again...

The islander's right to self determination is enshrined in the UN Charter. Argentina signed that Charter so there is nothing that Argentina can do .... except wish the islander's well -)

Obviously Argentinians have no time for our Royal Family.
Is this a matter of concern to the right thinking and democratic people of the United Kingdom and Overseas Territories?........ no.
Of course Argentina have their very own Kirchner Royal Family headed up by Queen Botox herself? Not sure whether her pedigree is any better than Fido's but hey live and let live is what I say.
