President Cristina Fernández, CFK, said on Thursday that “Argentina is facing an unprecedented global crisis in an orderly and organized way” and recalled her late husband Nestor Kirchner as the great impulse behind the country’s economic and social achievements.

Returning to the campaign trail after a two day rest due to a low pressure episode the president, looking healthy and happy, headed the inauguration of a new wind power plant in Greater Buenos Aires

The Argentine president said that her administration has built an “economic, political, social and cultural model that aims to give opportunities to the Argentine people” and promised she “will keep on working with the same strength and conviction” if re-elected on the October 23 ballot as all public opinion polls predict.

Fondly recalling her late husband former President Nestor Kirchner the president said ‘he’ lives in every family that receives the Universal Child allowance, on every student that was given a notebook as part of the Fair connectivity program and in every public work inaugurated in the last eight years.

He (Nestor Kirchner) led a formidable ‘change of times’ on taking office in 2003 and society has given us the mandate “for Argentina to continue growing. Today’s rallies are in hospitals, schools and factories that we are inaugurating”, said the president.

With less than two weeks to election day the Argentine president is the undisputed favourite to win her re-election bid based on a booming economy, an atomized opposition, and a sober and moderate style blended with a rigorous mourning since her husband died almost a year ago (October 27).

Since winning in 2007, the first Argentine woman elected president, Cristina Fernandez has changed radically her aggressive tone, --copied from her late husband political style--, for conciliatory speeches and invitations to dialogue.

Furthermore with her 50% plus victory in the 14 August mandatory simultaneous party primaries Cristina Fernandez has advanced her control over the structure of the dominant force in Argentine politics, the Peronist party and continues to grow in public opinion polls.

“The clue of her political success is that she has learnt to better handle than her opponents, the non rational elements of politics”, explains Rosendo Fraga a renowned political analyst.
