    Feet in mouth again Marcos!!
Bill is an Islander of many generations, a semiretired sheepfarmer who spends part of his time now living overseas - and why not? The rest of it he spends living on the farmland that has been in his family for generations.
You are not even funny - just an Arse.

    Not even Felisa Micela?

In July 2007, Miceli was involved in a controversy for a bag containing US$31,000 and AR$100,000 which the police found in a cupboard in her office bathroom.[8][9] Miceli claimed it was money lent to her by her brother. The Argentine peso bills, however, were sealed in a special numbered wrapper issued by the Central Bank, and were traced up to a financial firm that did not have records of the withdrawing of any such amount, and did not count Miceli or her brother as clients. Federal prosecutor Guillermo Marijuán demanded a hearing with Miceli.

In the midst of this scandal, the minister was forced to resign on 16 July. The First Lady and presidential candidate Senator Cristina Fernández de Kirchner stated: “We are a government that has the fight against corruption as our banner, and we cannot allow doubts in this regard.” Miceli's successor, Miguel Peirano, until then the Secretary of Industry, was designated and announced on the same day.[10]

    ain't Google a wonderful thing!

Its my view you too are going have to get on long term. The peace agreement bewtween the British and Irish in the North of Irelaqnd will show some of the pathways that are going to have to be follwed.
The current residents of the islands will have to recognize eventually that it cannot get along in South America with an ever richer Argentina while being defended by an ever more irrelevant mid sized European country.
The Argentines are going to have to recognize eventually that the islanders have a way of life they want to maintain and only agreement will satisfy everyone.
These things are better done because everyone has children and we have known enough of putting our children in danger here

    Señora lsolde,
    You're welcome.
Yes, Argentina has no rightful claims over this unknown thing called Falklands.
I only know a group of Argentinean islands, Malvinas, illegaly occupied by a military force from an European country 14000 km away.

5 & 6 - Of course you know how Miceli was punished; CFK put her in the “Mothers plaza” group as their treasurer. I am not sure if she was still there when the Shoklender scandal broke, whether she is still there, or if CFK has given her a big promotion to somewhere else.

Yuletide - if you are talking about Argentina buying the Islanders out - its been tried already!

“1953 - June 2nd, Argentina’s representative to the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, Admiral Alberto Teisaire, also brings a proposal from President Juan Perón, that Argentina purchase the Falkland Islands from Britain. The offer is rejected.”

    More than once in fact.

    http://falklandstimeline.wordpress.com/1900-1965/

Kippers, in our experience there is very litte sensibility, or indeed, sense, in those of a Latin disposition :-)

Morning all - I see the Falklands are still British. Wonderful. Just the way it should be. :-)

Did you know that Luis (or Louis or Lewis) Vernet was still whingeing in 1856 ?

“ ... am at present in London, and in correspondence with the present Government, for the purpose of claiming British protection and justice against the arbitrary acts and misrepresentation of certain British authorities, which have been the cause of my remaining, for these last eighteen years, dispossessed of my private property in the East Falkland Islands,...”

Still only talking about East Falkland though. That man could moan - a true Argie !
