The Brazilian president in office since January has changed six ministers, perhaps now the seventh – Lupi - along with his entourage of Panella and Rochas. But this is just an accusation printed in Veja, so there is a chance that the ‘kick-back’ corruption may be just a figment of people’s imagination.
We need to see the evidence, to test the evidence and then allow the individuals to retire gracefully from politics and the legal profession.

Surely there is no need to bring the whole force of the law down on them, like the head of the labor minister’s Democratic Labor Party in the lower house of Congress, Giovanni Queiroz, suggested. That would mean that they could never be high government officials ever again.

If they could be re-formed into ‘changed men’ (like what was done to ‘Alex’ in A Clockwork Orange’) - and learn to govern honestly - surely there could be a place reserved for them in Brasilian government.
