I think I will stick to LAN if they are skimping on maintenance.

The are very close to not being able to land in the USA or EU because they have failed so many inspections...never fly them.

Aero Argentinas is a zombie airline. They should let it fail and sell/resell the name to a local or foreign investor. In Brazil, they did the same with Varig Brasil (Once the proud of Brazil and Latin America) what is today just Varig, is a success.

Lan (Chilean/Peruvian) and TAM (Brazilian) are the best airlines in Latin America.

Is this not an example of Argentine provocation - placing the civil airline in the hands of the military? ;-)

Maybe it is the only way to keep the stock of pilots current with their licences and training (by placing them on the books of the airline, as they have no airworthy planes to fly in the FAA).
Alternatively, if military personnel are running the airline, this may be the way to keep Aerolinas' fares down - offering one-way tickets and no lifejackets...........!

    ”LAN (Chilean/Peruvian)“

Well, I will act like an argentine now:
”Are you trying to provoke? Since when is LAN (Lineas Aereas Nacionales) a peruvian company? They do also cover the peruvian market, same as they do with Argentina, Ecuador, partially Colombia. But they are not a peruvian company in general”

    :P

Since when is LAN (Lineas Aereas Nacionales) a peruvian company?

Since a Peruvian Pension fun bought almost halve of the shares and made the deal that LAN is Chilean and Peruvian (Peruvian government was also involved in the deal what happened around February 2010) You can search it up yourself. LAN is Chilean and Peruvian.
    Have a nice day.

    you mean this one?

    http://en.mercopress.com/2010/02/26/peruvian-private-pension-funds-purchase-lan-chile-shares

“...private pension funds, AFP, in Thursday auction of a 6.4% stake ”

Normally I consider you somebody quite balanced regarding economic background knowledge. But strangly, whenever it comes to chilean themes, you totally lose the balance. How come?
Since when is 6,4% stake “almost halve of the shares” ?

C0nsidering that logic, Apple is an American and Chilean company now (I own some share of them too *gg*)
    Have a nice day too.
