A UK-based company named as the Ministry of Defence’s new infrastructure support provider in Gibraltar has also won contracts for other British complexes in the Falkland Islands, Ascension Island and Cyprus as well as Gibraltar. Read full article

Nov 24th, 2011 - 12:19 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Why would HMS Clyde need a twin sister? your clearly forgetting about the Royal Navy destorys, frigates, subs and RAF Typhoons jets that are assigned to patrol and defend the Falkland Islands. You are also cleary forgetting about HMS Daring one of our newest ship with capabilites of hitting a ship that is out of sight over the horizon and also has stealh capabilities, which means any argentine ship would be hit and sunk without even knowing the HMS Daring was there. In other words you wouldn't know what the hell hit yer to it was to late lol.
You also have Dauntless's sister ships the HMS Daring and HMS diamond also scheduled to commence deployment in 2012 too. Then you have 3 more of the Type 45 D class vessels that will be joing the three above in the next few years.
Oh and you also have the Astute class submarines too. Your navy won't stand a chance against anyone of those vessels even if it was 5 ships against just 1 of ours yours will all be blown out of the water before they even spot any of them on radar or visually lol.

3. Unfortunately the exceptionally good RN ships are far away from the F.I., and are not ON PATROL NEARBY.
4. An HMS Clyde twin sister is needed to be on station in the Falkland Islands area, considering the present circumstances
