The Catholic Church is a strong proponent of Socialism. Socialism and totalitarian government has led to this poverty. Maybe we should get rid of the Catholic Church, it might alleviate poverty.

I wonder if they feel as rich? Doesn't everyone feel rich in Argentina? Or maybe that is just the people profiting from the current government?

Seriously, I would believe this report over any 'official' figures given by the Argentine government. It is more in line with what one sees and experiences if you visit Bs As; away from the tourist destinations.

It is good news that things have improved since 2001. How could they not?

It is clear that the Peronists love poor people - they have created so many of them.

Oil drilling islands. I don't believe there are any Argentine oil drilling islands. Actually, there aren't many Argentine islands. Just the few that they've stolen from Chile and Uruguay. Oh, look at that! Argentina stealing territory. Who would have thought it. Fortunately, there are some islands several hundred miles away belonging to their occupants and Britain where there may be oil and gas. Would Argentina like some? How much can Argentina afford? Triple the market rate? Quadruple? At least one of those, I suggest. Argentina needs to pay for being a Nazi relic.

Unfortunately for you brit imperialist pirate, the possibility are very slim.
Much more probable on the Argentine sea and the continental part,Neuquen,Mendoza,etc...
DO not wonder why Exxon and Shell are not interested???

Unfortunately for you malviner the chances of a island just hundreds of miles of the argentine coast, populated by brits and a sovereign territory of britain that have reserves of oil and gas. Is not slim, but actually a matter of fact.

As substabtial quantities of gas and oil have already been found and since you yourself have posted comments on these boards in response to articles regarding such finds of oil an gas, then it clear the truth is too much of an inconvenient truth for you to accept as the truth!

Poor Wesley you must be the worst informed person on the planet. It may not have entered your brain but perhaps the fact that socialism and totalitarianism reached their zenith of power in the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics whose downfall was caused in no small way by a certain Polish Pope. The fact that Peron was a stauch opponent of the USSR I wouldnt expect have managed to reach your consciousness either

    @ Plank Malviner

How about posting a link to a warning doubting the oil and gas reserves where the article was written after the oil and gas reserves were found, instead of posting one where doubts were cast as to whether their was oil and gas reserves in the falklands which was dated prior to such findings of oil and gas in the falklands. As i think you find that the article you linked and as pointed out by wireless was made prior to the discovery of oil and gas in the falklands and therefore the discovery of said oil and gas in the falklands proves the doubts in the aricle that you posted a link to as being unfounded and wrong.

    You plank lol

    Malvinero1,
You WISH that there was no oil & gas in the Falklands, but unfortunately for you it seems that there might be plenty.
What business is it of yours anyway, malvinista?
Stop posting out-of-date links which you know are out of date.
lt is possible that you are a plank.

@14 I think it is just to divert from the topic of the news article. They do not want to acknowledge the poor because it detracts from the myth that 'everyone feels rich in Argentina'.

everyone feels rich because production in the economy is booming ...

I thought it would be interesting to ask the people living in poverty their thoughts about a CFK fanatic's suggestion that 'everyone feels rich'. I'll let you know the response.

Anything to say about the article? Or do poor people no longer exist post-election?

The figures in the article are a positive indicator of the continued growth of the and importantly the distribution of the corresponding wealth from which the catholic church will benefit.that scenario is positive for CFK as it will increase the support for her and the government.that must be frustrating for CFK haters as some of these posts reveal.(or are the people being deceived as a few friends of contributors are told?)imagination and prejudice are wonderful distorters of information.
