Five Paraguayan lawmakers are impeding Venezuelan access to mercosur? Five sensible people. Who in their right minds would want Chavez to have any more power than he already has? He's already ruined Venezuela!

Five clever Uruguayan people are impeding the entering of Huguito into MERCOSUR, when he give up or die, whatever the first, Venezuela will be welcomed anywhere......in the meantime, will be restricted to the lowest developed countries friendship and their leaders (Rafaelito, Evito, Fidelito, etc.)

Well done patriotic Uruguayan lawmakers.....you are helping your country to be safe.....

A typical Chavez approach. Who is the “Black hand” - he's probably trying to blame the USA. As for the 'stamps' comment - it is a barely veiled threat from the thug that he is.

It's a shame that 2011 does not really have time to claim another despot.

I am ambivalent about Chavez, in that I sometimes agree with him, and sometimes don't. The thing here (#5) is that the US does have a heavy handed “black ops” (Black hand?) program going on in South America to destabilize ALL of the progressive governments. In this regard, Chavez is correct. He is also correct to say that the First World has in fact benefited greatly from the imbalances of trade and the ownership of resources. The South American oligarchs are directly tied to the American and European oligarchs. And, he is correct to point out the stronger ties between the South American nations will create benefits for all of the countries. These are truths that cannot be denied even if one does not like Chavez.

You only have to look at the latest picture of him to see the adverse chemo reaction his body is trying to cope with: let's hope it fails.
