Making a film about an iconic politician like Britain's Margaret Thatcher is akin to walking into a movie minefield, and casting an American -- even one as revered as Meryl Streep -- is asking for more trouble. Read full article

Thatcher lives in the middle of London near Buckingham Palace in a very nice townhouse which is guarded 24 x 7 by a bobby. How is this 'falling back to normal'?

It doesn't look like critics have enjoyed the movie very much.

Though I don't know how the movie has treated Thatcher's policies, specially in regards to socioeconomic matters, I have noticed that her image has been employed - at least outside of the UK, and specially by US right-wingers such as Michele Bachmann - to make propaganda for the decadent financial capitalism that has come under attack by social movements since the Great Recession. I hope the movie takes at least a neutral stance on this matter.

There are more critics that voted it good that bad. and the users vote it a 80+%

I've not seen it. But they've stated that this film was not about her policy's at all, rather about the woman she was.

My post was eaten away because I used forbidden characters. Again:

Movies with less than 60% approval rating are considered 'rotten', in the website's terminology. And viewership ratings are not an indicator of quality. Be that as it may, Streep's performance seems to have been widely applauded, and the main criticism against the movie is that it took a too neutral and dispassionate view of her policies. That's not a negative factor to me.
