Re-re-election rattling: “Cristina Fernandez needs a third term in office”

That's why she mentioned the Falkland Islands. It wins her votes and helps pay for some terrible plastic surgery.

trouble is, when you promise something,
sooner or later, you will have to come up with the goods,

she promises , something she does not own , or cannot get .

I doubt this will happen. If it does, I would be the first to admit it is quite worrying.

At the end of the day, I don't car what Boudou says because I have heard CFK herself say there would NOT be another term after this one.

@3 Do you think she would push her son forward? I am curious.

That could well be the case but then again, that would not be unconstitutional.

I wouldn't be a welcomed development, let me be honest with you, but you couldn't claim it would be illegal. If his son postulated himself, he'd have to convince many voters to actually vote him. Sure she would prop him up here and there but, at the end of the day, he would have to some talking and show he has the necessary attributes. There would be no escaping this.

I doubt it will happen though. there is too much grinding and exhaustion for a political party to keep wining back to back to back elections.

Now, if she went for a third term, I'd be seriously concerned.

'Bumchin' Boudou wants her to have a third term as he has only recently climbed aboard the gravy train.....

I don't think the idea is at all popular with Argentines in general. (Save the CFKC fanclub and pet poodles like Boudou). Boudou was probably told to float the idea to test the reaction.

If you believe in fairies, then you must keep your dreams and ideals alive,
If that means she puts her son up then his children and so on, then so be it,
    Otherwise your dream will fail,
    On the other hand,
If the argentine people see it differently and vote against her,
Then her deluded dreams are dead, are they not .

“Argentina has found a leader who is much more than just someone who governs, and that doesn’t happen very often,” Exactly.
And if the people want to keep her, and she's wiling to stand again, why should there be a constitutional bar?
In fact it would actually be undemocratic to exclude the people's choice from standing.
Wasn't America's best president the one who was elected four times, facing don Hitler in his third term when most of his opponents would have stayed isolationist?!
Few leaders will stay popular enough to keep getting re-elected anyway in a democracy, but then few leaders are as talented and charismatic as CFK - which of the oligarchic opposition jokers would do better than her, and who in her own camp could be a better standard bearer for inclusive, pro-people politics?

She is someone who more than governs. She is the strong and lively 'plastic lady'. At least she can be melted down and recycled after the next election. They may be able to turn her back into a plastic coca-cola bottle.

She is strong and lively, and if the worst you trolls and haters can say about her is that she keeps herself beautiful (well, its worked) it just goes to show your losing the political argument in the real world. Not surprised really to see so much bile (like all the slit her throat comments just before the cancer op) from a coalition of Thatcher and Galtieri supporters!

Read the report in the link and then tell us all how much you love her ideas and policies. She is driving Argentina into the abyss.

The Heritage Foundation are a hard right Reaganite think tank, honarary president Margaret Thatcher, cheerleaders for pro-banker anti-people free marketeering policies that have failed, I'm not surprised they are against Cristina and pleased that she scares them. A lot of the report was just about how she wasn't in America's interests as if she should be, and lots of unsubstantiated smears, plus the shock horror revelation that those who worship free markets don't agree with her policies =)

4/5 I don't think the Ks have ever worried about ARG constitution getting in the way of what they want to do. They have ruled by executive order for 8 years and if the Supreme Court or Minister may disagree with an act they just get rid of them. How is it different than any other “democratically elected” dictator?
Let's see 3rd election; fat max is run as VP then CFK steps down...they did almost the same thing when Nestor was running, he just died and screwed up the dynastic longevity. Their original plan was to keep switching the Prez job back and forth right into their graves.
