    Looks like the unions are all talk and no trousers. Why would they want to ban ships flying the Maltese flag? Is Argentina claiming soverignty over Gozo and Comino now?

    Do they really need LPG?

    I'm sure we could find someone who is more than happy to buy it from British-registered ships and not kick up a fuss?

    Argentina's international foreign policy will mean that companies and firms will not want to be linked to Argentina, even if they are a customer.

    Long Live the Falklands.

    @3Helber,
    Fry some finely chopped onions in olive oil & garlic, set aside.
    Boil some potatoes, let cool overnight, then lightly mash.
    Combine above & fry with corned beef.
    Add fried egg if liked.
    Sparingly add hot lndonesian sauce if liked.
    Great on a cold morning with hot coffee.

    On Tuesday morning there's a story saying Argentine unions will boycott the unloading of UK flagged ships (or UK ships using a flag of convenience, although how would you tell?)
    On Tuesday afternoon there's a story about Kirchner rapping the unions for asking for a pay increase of only 5% less than the actual inflation rate.
    On Wednesday morning there's a story about the unions complaining about escalating repression and endangering human rights.
    Then there's a story about an impending energy crisis.
    Then there's this one, a ship with the word “British” in it's name, flying a Manx flag of convenience, that the unions are happy to unload as long as they're paid in cash, just USD not Pesos.

    All in all, sounds like a right basket case...

    @8 Isolde
    What sort of sambal would you recommend? I do a fair nasi goreng with a couple of teaspoons of sambal ulek per hundred grams of rice (working on the principle that I want it to be hot enough to be interesting, but not being young and stupid enough to try and kill my tastebuds).

    By 'unloaded' do we mean 'let it drain out into the harbour'? I thought that the chain-smokers weren't unloading anything in some attempt to create-an-economic-blockade-whilst-not-creating-a-blockade in a Sean Penn stylee.

    Surely, it's a well established fact that typical sea-faring pirates use an ensign of a white skull and cross bones on a black field... except for some who use a rainbow flag, but they're a different type of pirate looking for a different type of treasure.

    Argentinian's are the BEST back peddlers in the world! They say something then a few minutes later back down when someone stronger tells them to shut up or get hurt.

    British Ruby should off-load direct into the water of the harbour. Once bills have been paid, sail and fire a flare over the stern.

    “As of today we have decided to boycott any vessel with the English flag, with the invented Falklands’ flag or registered under any of the convenience flags from the English pirates (Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Gibraltar, Panama, Malta, etc.)” said CATT in a communiqué.

    Looks like any flag with the union jack in the corner, so thats Australia, New Zealand, Bermuda, Caymans, Falklands, Anguilla, British Columbia (Canada), Cayman Islands, Fiji, Hawaii ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Hawaii ) Manitoba, Montserrat, Niue, Ontario (Canada), Tuvalu. Add Panama and probably Liberia and they pretty much shoots themselves in the foot.

    @16 “I must confess, I am a little uneasy with the fact that a catholic priest, Father Carlos Molina seems to be in charge of that project, for obvious reasons. Letting catholic priests be in charge of NGO’s dealing with young children is somewhat like letting an elephant guard your vegetable patch.”

    Hmm, don't worry. If he does anything untoward then he can always use the collection money or UN money to buy an indulgence from the pope.

    @9Rufus,
    l love hot s.e.Asian & lndian sauces.
    Unfortunately they do not like me!
    l love to get my lips burning but if its too hot then l get violent painful hiccups! So you must find a happy medium.
    Of course with children you don't give them hot sauces.
    So because of this l use a mild sambal tomat or sambal durrian.
    l also like kecap manis, which is a soysauce sweetened with palm sugar & not hot.
    Hot sauces can speed up your metabolism & help keep the weight off.
    Although l do not have that problem myself, thank God!
    There are many sauces in Asia as you probably know. Hope this helps.

    @19 Isolde
    Think i'll give the tomat a try, I'm guessing that durrian contains Durians? I like the taste, but the smell is a bit too “unique” for me...
