China increases defense budget to 100bn dollars; India says it is closer to 150bn

China has announced it will increase defense spending by 11.2% in 2012, for the first time taking its annual military expenditure beyond 100 billion dollars as it puts in place plans to modernize its Army against the backdrop of an uncertain regional environment. Read full article

    @1 it's unlikely. Social and political reform are mega-years behind their economic reforms. I think our best hope is they continue to make their military equipment like they make their TV sets.

    Chances are that at least 50% of the components of pc you are using were made in China, Same goes for yor TV, DVD player, Mobile Phone etc.
    They Are a Superpower and there is nothing wrong with their equipment.

    The world sits and watches, as both china and Russia, both increase their military spending,
    And the west, reduces theirs, the logic is lost somewhere along with common sense .

    As long as these big two, remain docile and remain within there own spears of influence then all will be ok,

    But of course, we all know different, as soon as the west is seen as weak enough, the two will jump, and we will of pay the price of stupid incompetent politicians, [again]
