It's nice to see people getting just rewards from the queen. I just hope the Falklands can continue to develop a huge portfolio of relevant focused industries based on it's current revenues without destroying what it has, lots of natural beauty.

@7 You need to see the ITV programme “ Return to The Falklands” the photography of the Islands was simply fantastic. You Argies must be so jealous!

Interesting fact on the programme as an Argentine officer who fought at Two Sisters explained why there are so many unkown dead Argentines at Darwin. Conscripts were not issued with ID tags, how bonkers was that! Cost cutting or just treated as canon fodder?

You don't know what you're talking about. There is no skiing in the Falklands.

@9 I think you mean “cannon fodder”! A “canon” is something completely different, unless you are using some degenerate form of the language. Do not follow the United States example. They've never been able to spell, or use words, properly. Example; what are “shorts” in American? They are “underpants”. You see? “Underpants” describes the article of clothing precisely. How about “biscuit”? In American it's something like a scone. Now who on earth would want a digestive biscuit that was like a scone? Can you imagine a ginger scone? Or a chocolate scone? And they put them on a plate with beef and pour gravy on them!

And of course the conscripts were cannon fodder. Just like the ones that never left argieland now reckon they are “veterans”. I understand that in the good old days in Britain such “items” had NWOV painted on them. “Not Wanted On Voyage”! Remember that after the conscripts had been turned into POWs, argieland created difficulties over having them back! Remember that instruction that originated in Sparta “Come back with your shield or on it”? Argieland has a different version. “Come back with victory or don't bother”!

What a pity that the Argies only have the Mad Bitch to 'admire' when the Falklands (there are no Malvinas) have people like Richard Cockwell to be proud of.

Can anyone imagine ANY politician in Argentina promoting anything but themselves?

@12 I doubt Richard Cockwell has a son whose pseudo-fascist youth league managed to 'eat' $2.1 Billion.

    That in itself is admirable.
