This typically understated but firm response reminded me of the rather more grandiose Argentinian version
    http://www.plenglish.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=490229&Itemid=1, and particularly
”The first step will be to present it next week (i.e. this week now) at the 2012 Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly in Uganda”. Wow. I'll bet the parliamentarians can't wait.

The other latin American countries couldn't give a flying fig for Argentina's claim to the Falkland Islands. All they do is whisper quiet support to appease their neighbour just to show a little support. This is multiplied 10,000 times by the Facist Commedians who list their closest friends as Venezuela, Cuba and Iran.

it wont ever come to a choice - trade or Falkands. Argentina's neighbours are getting worried at how that country is behaving -

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-17576856

and if it goes on much longer will start to distance it self from the madness.

Nobody knows you better than your neighbours, lets have a look at Argentinas... erm lets see....

Chile....refused to blockade The Falklands flights even after Christinas personal request.

Uruguay...refuses Argentinas pressure to blockade The Falklands as they see it as Human rights violations, and instead is setting up commercial flights to the islands as well as extra economic trade

Peru....Delayed suspending UK navy vessel as a point to Argentina over
supplying weapons and training for the Ecuador guerillas fighting a border war with peru, very neighbourly

The Falklands...has lived under threat of the argentine bullies for generations, however the islanders future and security looks very bright.

Argentina you will be extremely lucky to remain a country in years to come or more possibly break up into independant provinces with their own economies, instead of being drained by beunos airies leeches.

    @13 MurkyThink

Care to enlighten us about anything that HM Governor has ever vetoed? Perhaps some wholly imaginary groundswell of sentiment in favour of the Falklands becoming a victimised province of the despotic pisspot republic of Argentina?

    Reasonable comparisons:

    Argentina - Nazi Germany
    Kirchner - Hitler
Maximo - La Campora - Hitler Youth - Brownshirts
    Timerman - Goebbels
