The UK’s Falkland Islands All-party Parliamentary Group stated on Monday that “no British government will negotiate with Argentina the sovereignty of the South Atlantic archipelago.”

Andrew Rosindell, a conservative MP and general secretary of the Falklands’ special committee, explained that the lawmakers group will keep backing the Islanders right to self determination.

Likewise, MP Rosindell explained that “Argentina’s strategy is to force the United Kingdom to have to choose between its loyalty to the Islands and its trade links with Latin America. But Argentina must understand that this is not going to work as defending our people [islanders] is always a top priority and comes before any commercial links.”

Furthermore, Labour MP and chair of the UK's Falkland Islands All-party Parliamentary Group, Derek Twigg, said the “entire British political spectrum is strongly supporting the Islanders’ right to self-determination, and no British government could ever negotiate the islands sovereignty with Argentina”.
