Apr 18th, 2012 - 01:19 pm - Link - Report abuse 0@6 Oh, the hefty chuckling currently coming from the Falkland Islands.
Apr 18th, 2012 - 01:50 pm - Link - Report abuse 0@6 Luvverly. Nobody in argieland with the ability to recover any o/g resources and the Falklands powers on, quietly.
Apr 18th, 2012 - 02:08 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Wonder if argieland has figured out how much the Falklanders are going to charge them for just one barrel of black gold?
I cannot imagine the FIG selling oil to Argentina, why support a country that has demanded the expulsion of the Falklanders themselves?
Apr 18th, 2012 - 02:28 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Only Cameron and the other pratt are prepared to sell the UK to their enemies (the muslims and illegal immigrants).
The truth is that no one else in South America gives a damn about the Falkland Islands while quiet words of support are whispered to appease the 'crying child'.
Apr 18th, 2012 - 02:58 pm - Link - Report abuse 0The CFK Politburo style depends on creating enemies. Earlier this month it was the UK now it is Spain. Argentina is fast becoming a periah state.
As everyone can excpect, CFK support is falling down even among the SA neighbors.....People get tired with the same routinne every meeting from a crazy lady that is trying to involve them in bilateral issues.....This is the 2nd time that the Falklands Islands issue is left aside. Great vitory, Miss Bottox...
Apr 18th, 2012 - 03:55 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Ah, if we talk about colonialism, why nobody mention the French Guyana, where this territory (or country) is a real Colony of France that include it as part of the Mainland as a Department or Province being 10.000 km apart from Europe where there were native inhabitants when the french arrived to take control that have not being asked for their people's self determination rights.....???
News flash! Argentine economy collapses! KFC arrested!

Apr 18th, 2012 - 09:01 pm - Link - Report abuse 0You are looking more and more unpleasant with every post. A rabid racist who also supports dictatorship, what does that make one then??
@13 you could ask yourself the very same question.
Apr 18th, 2012 - 09:45 pm - Link - Report abuse 0But I'm against dictatorship. OK you think the awesome Cristina is a dictator, I think thats crazy talk but lets agree to disagree on that for now, as I ask: When have I ever even been accused on here of being racist??!!

Apr 19th, 2012 - 05:52 am - Link - Report abuse 0I really can't take you seriously any more. As far as I can make out, from reading your posts, is that you are just a wind-up merchant.
Either you are someone (possibly Argentinian) with a funny sense of humour, or there is something wrong with you. All of your language about CFK is extremely flowery, to the extent it reminds of soviet style flattery of party officials.
You ignore her many failings as a leader. Despite her populism she really has'nt achieved a fat lot except making Argentina look ineffectual against us, while alienating Spain, Argentinas' closest european ally.
All leaders have failings, I can point out that Churchill (a personal favourite) made some disaterous errors in his time, the intervention in Greece in 1941 for a start.
In my opionion your uncritical and rather sycophantic declarations for your queen are just an attempt to illicit emotional responses from non-malvinistas.
Spain is not an enemy of Arg. There are manymany spanish companies here, with banks, with telephones, with TV interests, etc. And they seem to be winning money, even at the time of corralito.
Apr 19th, 2012 - 05:54 am - Link - Report abuse 0#16 It may surprise you but Churchill is also a personal favorite of mine.
Apr 19th, 2012 - 10:52 am - Link - Report abuse 0As to your wider point, I've said on here before that I sometimes use flowery language to wind up, not non-malvinists (I like Isolde, for example, and as a Brit don't consider myself a malvinist, just supportive of negotiation) but the extreme right nationalists and neoliberals like conqueror, chrisr, greek etc, who, jokes aside, I really can find quite offensive. But my support for Cristina as a left leader and an example we could learn much from in the UK is genuine =)
@ 17 Don't be that innocent, those spanish companies here are not here because they love Argentina, they are here to make money. Who cares if Spain is an enemy?
Apr 19th, 2012 - 02:40 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Have just read in La Nación how Argentina's senate almost unanimously support the nationalisation of Repsol. Reminds of how in 1982 practically the entire population, including the opposition, supported Galtieri's attempt to steal foreign property. CFK is today much more popular in Argentina than she was a week ago. What does this say about the ethics of the Argentine population in general as a body politic?

Apr 19th, 2012 - 05:18 pm - Link - Report abuse 0This behaviour is deeply embedded in the psyche of the ordinary Argentine.
They will always follow a populist leader until he/she makes a mess of things. They will always choose the worst form of government.
CFK is a front woman in the hands of some powerful industrial clique. She is a sort of puppet on a string
What has happened to Dr Cavallo? Will he come out of retirement and save the country?
Enough of my rambling for now!
I think Argentina are beyond saving.

Yes, history proves you right. But why? As individuals, the Argentines I know (a great many in Punta del Este) are absolutely charming. They criticise their own country and its past and present leaders and armed forces all the time. But if the M word comes up, many seem to grow fangs and become ultra-patriotic and nationalistic. And now the same with Repsol?
