The Royal Navy warship which hosted the Argentine surrender of South Georgia in 1982 is to be scrapped despite an intensive campaign to save it from extinction, reports the UK media. Read full article

    Thats a wonderful photograph - Captain David Pentreath and Captain Nicholas Barker (of HMS Endurance - aka red plum) accepting Argentine surrender from the Argentine Navy commander. Every Argentine navy wardroom should have one of those photographs firmly affixed to the bulkhead!

    Sad really would of like to see it preserved.
    Maybe the RG's would like to buy it to modernise there fleet.

    l'd have made them lie on their bellies, like they did to our Marines.
    Then made sure the pictures were sent around the world.

    Maybe the Navy, Government or private charity could just buy the room or the fittings where the signature was taken, rather than the whole ship.
