You have got to be jerking my chain. They rob one of your companies blind and you discuss ways how to improve international investments in Argentina. Am I missing something here?

I've got to say so far Spain has acted very big and not backed itself up with action.

So far it isn't showing any teeth, maybe it doesn't have any?

Joint statements whilst politically helpful aren't going to really achieve anything.

If I were Spain's government, I'd push for expulsion from WTO, G20, veto WCB loans etc.

Argentina is blockading British territory (your statements), what has the UK done? (really done)

This happened just three days ago. The blockade's been going on for three months.

Argentina has attempted and failed to blockade the Falkland's.

    It's a non-point.

That's not the point. The point is the action. If somone throws you a punch and whiffs, it's still a punch thrown.

Or otherwise you guys can't say Argentina's actions were a blockade.

@9 Er yes we can. But the fact you were so incompetent at it means that a strong response wasn't really necessary. Why waste time and resources on an opponent that can defeat *itself* through sheer stinky failure at everything it tries?

The punch was more like that thrown by a drunk guy in a bar who thought you were in his seat, generally you just tut and move out the way a bit, don't react because everyone else in the bar can also see what a tit he's being, and then just wait for him to inevitably fall over. Yup, Argentina is the bar room equivalent of the guy outside throwing up on a lamp post. Sad thing is, Spain was at the bar minding it's own business and as soon as it nipped to the toilet, you nicked the wallet out his coat to buy another round of drinks.

#2 Well of course “improving the climate for investment” has historically meant all kinds of unsavory things, such as coups. But if you're right I suppose it means Cristina's gamble has payed off and proven to be a stroke of genius =)

@14 Proving yourself to be a proponent of thievery, I see. In addition you know she did this thievery against the constitution of Argtardia, so I guess you're not a fan of democracy either.

I can see why you're not living in Argtardia now.

    Lol USA will what???
I think USA might be better trying to fix things in Afghanistan, Iraq and libya where their CIA terrorists are still killing women and children for the country’s resources, Argentine is doing fine and protecting it's citizens from fakland island company and now repsol. No need for your cash unless you never want to see it again give it.

The point is you people need to Chillax and if repsol has any legitimacy and didn't break their contract with the state of Argentina we will see them at the international courts that's all, until then don't cry for me Argentina, that simple.

Courts are only relevant to those who abide by their rulings. Do you honestly think that this lot will respect the rule of law. Call me cynical, but for some mysterious reason, I do not.

One quarter of all ICSID arbitrations have been against Argentina - placing it first in this bad-boy league, and it also has the worst record of non-compliance with ICSID decisions. It also flouts WTO rules, and was recently criticised by no less than 40 countries for its protectionist policies which breach all the rules. The mystery is why it even bothers signing up to anything, as it never bothers complying. And then Argentinians have the nerve to complain that the rest of the world treats them with contempt!

@25 DJ56. The even bigger mystery is why are they even invited to sign up to anything, when it's known they will not honour what ever they sign. Baffling.

“Argentine is doing fine and protecting it's citizens from fakland island company”

What a great fantasy! There's this huge multinational preying on poor argentinians..... Or is he one of those moronic argentinians who believes that the islanders are actually repressed argentinians living under the evil british just waiting to be liberated like in 1982?

The problem Argentina signs agreements with countries and entities that are larger, have far greater population and therefore GDP, or is a union of countries and therefore they can do whatever they want. I agree Argentina does not honor agreements. The mistake Argentina makes is signing agreements when the other side uses military and financial power to get around those rules.

    not true surley.
    anyway
when they signe things at the g20, do these countries all carry out what they agree to do .
or perhaps these meetings should be scrapped .

They should be scrapped. The world knows it's a lie. Only those involved think there is fairness there.

    @reality check

I guess you are talking about my link. Ya?

Well is a joke made by someone using a typical red screen used by a sensationalist TV channel also a newspaper (Cronica) like The Sun.

The ad says “Spanish are starting retaliation against Argentina, they send Julio Iglesias”

Julio Iglesias is a Spanish singer and father of Enrique Iglesias both very bad singers indeed and even though by using a vocoder they cannot improve a bit.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rULt7pIxzOo

Just in case you don’t know what is a vocoder
