Will the G20 approve of nationalisation? Highly, highly unlikely!

Will the G20 do anything about it? Highly, highly impossible.

In these kind of meetings they can barely agree to condemn the rape of a baby, they are going to agree on this. And even if some sort of condemnation was voted on, guess what, Argentina would veto it.

I guess that veto power is a bitch, when it isn't you with the control of it :o

I'd agree Tobias, the G20 like a lot of organisations world powers attend very rarely do anything of any use. I often wonder if they are simply a nice outing for these people in power.

However expulsion is on the cards, not that it will really make any difference to anything.

But to have expulsion you need a unaninous vote, and there is no way in he!! Brazil would vote for that. Or even Mexico. And I doubt China or Russia would either.

Mexico would vote for an expulsion. China or Russia would, because it wouldn't affect their trade with you, and you've pissed off China by ruining their Repsol buy-out. That leaves Brazil, who wouldn't...

... but the G20 know that with Argentina there, going against what the forum is supposed to achieve, it makes little sense having the whole forum. So.. I'd expect everyone except brazil to vote for it.

I don't think it needs a vote if core rules are broken however, that's not important.

Mexico is certainly moving against Argentina however Russia/China are anti-west so may choose not to support it, who knows?

Regardless, it doesn't matter the G20 tooth-less bureaucrats are unlikely to do anything other than condemn Argentina which really means zero.

@6 Let's face it, they won't get kicked out and they'll just spoil the party by ranting on about something to do with them being upset because they're not being allowed an empire. Everyone will ignore them, they'll do a massive RAGEQUIT FFFFRRRFFFF and then they'll expropriate Telefonica as a result.

#5 “with Argentina there, going against what the forum is supposed to achieve”

Looking forward to it, hope Cristina channels Galloway at the US Senate =)

“there is a great respect among the region’s countries about each government’s legitimate and sovereign actions. ....We must address topics like growth and social inclusion,” Argentinian Economy Minister Hernán Lorenzino, about the G20 remit.

    So,
the framework for world trade and
nations' expropriation of international corporations assets
is outside the remit of the G20.

Who is he trying to kid?

(Though I imagine Russia will keep a bit quiet about their BP expropriation)
