Well done to all the winners and indeed everyone who was nominated. The Falkland Islands is a world-class tourism destination and it is down to the people involved who make the experiences so wonderful (not just the amazing wildlife and beautiful landscapes!!).
The Leopoldo Fortunato Galtieri memorial award goes to the good people of
Ushuaia for shooting themselves in the foot by turning away two cruise ship's loaded with dosh :-)))))
Well done to everybody involved. The winners are very deserving. Pimmy, well done mate. Debs, what can I say; you are a star. Arlette; simply one of the best cooks I've been fed by. Sammy; I couldn't imagine you giving anyone less than excellent service mate. Kay, don't change a thing. Except please don't get any more bloody gnomes!! Hattie, you have the gift.
Great idea and another great big strive forward in the ever-maturing Falkland Islands tourism industry.
Another record by Argentina. 26 pending law suits; more than any other nation.
Still the one in problems is uk,NOT ARGENTINA...AHAHAH
loser brits!
uk is FINISHED! That is the reality!!
Hundreds of thousands of men and women are trapped in part-time work because they are unable to find a full-time job, the TUC revealed today.
Its analysis - revealed before the latest unemployment figures that are already at record levels are published on Wednesday - showed the number of men working part-time has more than doubled in the last four years.
There were almost 600,000 men in part-time work in December compared with 293,000 at the end of 2007, the union organisation uncovered.
The number of underemployed women has increased by 74 per cent to 780,000, bringing the total number of people in involuntary part-time work to a record high of 1.38 million.
The east of England has been hit by the largest increase in underemployment over the past four years with the number of men working part-time more than trebling to almost 60,000.
Poor deluded ex empire!
@9 Wheres the proof of your figures Malviner, simply qouting numbers and naming the TUC whilst not providing any link to official UK statistics websites to back up your numbers or any claim by the TUC doesn't prove anything.
Though those working part time still get working tax credits on top of their wages each week. And even without those working tax credits an employee on minimum wage would still be earning more a week than you earn in a month - Oh and as we don't have high inflation we don't spend all our earnings on one weekly shop like you probably do. And another thing you forgot to consider was what their wage level is. I work part time, but i earn millions of pounds a year. Most self employed people work part time too, you forgot to mention that in the UK more and more people are starting their own businesses or working for themselves.
In other words Malviner there can be many reasons for such an increase in part time workers, but it doesn't automatically mean people are less well off by it, in fact they could be more better off if their business is successful or they are on high enough wages to actually enjoy the extra time off they have off.
Hey Malvi. How many times have you said that the UK was finished? Ever since you started posting your little rants. Is the UK finished? Nope.
Also, how is the UK a loser? They still have a bigger economy that Argentina and still a major force in the World....and lets not forget that the Falklands is still British. I thought it was only a matter of time? Seems like Argentina are the real losers here.
Malvi, post something with some depth and analysis and not the sensless dribble you always post.
@14 tell you what - we should give them the islands in 5 billion years time since its only a matter of time at least then they will be right - Oh i forgot in 5 billion years time the earth will have probably been swallowed up by the Sun it the suns death stages, but hey whilst the rest of us are safe on our new home world, at least the argentines will be getting one hell of a tan lol
It looks as my sister graduation.... celebration?? the next one maybe will be in Ushuaia (capital of Malvinas) or London... of course they have to decide.... ;)
Well done to all the winners...........Arlette the best hostess in town.....Patrick all the local knowledge in one brain............Samantha Davies one to look out for, she's an up coming star.......Bluff Cove no surprise there at all..............Kay simply superb MWAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

May 14th, 2012 - 10:38 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Brilliant quote
”It’s much easier to deal with Chavez. He has actually paid fair compensation to those he expropriated and has honored all of his country’s debts,”
They'd rather deal with Chavez than CFK, that speaks VOLUMES, what a crappy nation they truely are.
While UK ranked first for tourists to Falklands in 2011, second place was held by Argentina, followed by US and France (not including cruise passengers): http://en.mercopress.com/2012/05/11/uk-and-argentina-main-tourist-generating-markets-for-the-falklands-in-2011
