good show DC !
Jun 14th, 2012 - 07:12 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Its got to be a little disheartening for the argies knowing that all their hard work over the last 12 months has not made a blind bit of difference and we dont give a damn about what they say, do or think.

Thanks PM Cameron - important support. Now watching Falkland Islanders present at UN De-colonization committee. They're doing a great job - but will anybody on that committee care?

Jun 14th, 2012 - 08:10 pm - Link - Report abuse 0The short answer is probably NO but then does anybody in the UK or on the Falklands expect anything to really change.Again the answer is probably NO. I watched a short piece with Alejandro Betts castigating wicked imperialist Britain for its misdeeds in the Malvinas. Was he the Falklander who was fingering other islanders to the Argie occupation force ? The local Judas no less.
Utter bollocks from Argentina. whats incredible is that the Falkland Islanders are now being termed disloyal Argentine citizens. WTF.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 08:22 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Haha, now they're suggesting that the British are suggesting the British are telling lies about the history of the Falklands.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 08:24 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Gosh, that's rich.
What bits of the Argie sob story I have seen so far make me want to vomit right on KFCs head !
Jun 14th, 2012 - 08:34 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Who wants to take bets on the outcome and the valid reasons for Britain not turning up or taking notice of the proceedings.
Have the Argies mentioned about the genocide of the indians, the Anaya plan for disposing of the Falklanders or the 30,000
disappeared. Maybe it was the Martians who were responsible . It could not possibly have been the Argentines.
I think normal service will resume tomorrow. The Argies might win lots of these muppets over but it only hardens the resolve of the islanders and the British.
Urm... what's the issue with Chile? I thought they were our friends.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 08:39 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Chileans welcomed the RG delegation and totally blanked the one from the Falklands. the bias is there for all too see. Unbelievable shite.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 08:41 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Haha, that's fun. Watching the Chileans being wagged like a dog's tail.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 08:43 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I want the Ecuadorian Chair to start ranting on about how the UN charter isn't important, etc.
It's only a matter of time.
status quo, unlucky argentina nothing changes
Jun 14th, 2012 - 08:47 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Just been listening to the statement of the Chilean representative.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 08:47 pm - Link - Report abuse 0What a load of crap!
Adopt any draft resolution you like. NO CHANGE!
The Botx Queen speaking now.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 08:49 pm - Link - Report abuse 0TBh this is the first time I've heard this forum in operation. the whole committee is owned by the hispanics.
It must be that the Latin Americans and even the Commonwealth Caribbean countries have developed fish like tendencies to swim in shoals.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 08:49 pm - Link - Report abuse 0From a British and Falklands perspective it changes nothing but when is the FCO going to remember who its friends are and act accordingly.
I think the Argies are a bit too eager to claim support as I am sure that on one of the Argie paper websites Australia was included as one of the countries which 'wants the Malvinas to be returned to Argentina.'
Bad Chile.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 08:51 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Deaths in the wars of liberation? IRC is being brought up... curious.
You're right, it's all hispanics.
Bloody hell...can't any of these RGs stay on topic?
Jun 14th, 2012 - 08:53 pm - Link - Report abuse 0No... she's just going around in circles.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 08:54 pm - Link - Report abuse 0She's not a great orator.
Its utter sentimental hogwash and lies from the RG's. However all of their mates are there. Unbelievable how this committee operates.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 08:54 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I don't think the Chilean statement was THAT strong. They ended by saying both parties should speak.....blah, blah. They know nothing is going to happen as a result of this committee.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 08:54 pm - Link - Report abuse 0CFKC should not be allowed to speak. She just rambles and makes no sense. Is she trying to bore people into submission.
What I particularly liked was the sob story from the Vernet descendant. Her little child wasn't yet walking. They were planting vegetables and flowers. Yeah, right. On land they had no right to be on.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 08:55 pm - Link - Report abuse 0whats going on with her face, a stroke in motion.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 08:56 pm - Link - Report abuse 0@21 I would disagree with you on this occasion. The Chileans made a clear statement of support for the Argentines.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 08:56 pm - Link - Report abuse 0She's making absolutely no sense at all. Do hispanics like this kind of speech?
CFK really doesn't know her history at all.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 08:56 pm - Link - Report abuse 0She has no clear line of thought. I'm struggling to understand her oral strategy.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 08:58 pm - Link - Report abuse 0After the guy reading from the mills and boon novel, and the well known traitor, it's difficult to see what she's trying to say.
She has now completely lost it. No structure to what she is saying, no sense, fuckall. Very, very poor from Argentina.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 08:59 pm - Link - Report abuse 0she seems fine talking in Rg Land. when it comes to talking properly in an international forum she completely loses it.
she has a good audience, they like a bit of rant amongst hispanics
Jun 14th, 2012 - 09:00 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Off topic but that goth eye-make-up really ages her.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 09:00 pm - Link - Report abuse 0On topic, why has she dragged all those veterans along if she is 'not here to talk about 1982'?
Can anyone follow her scatterbrain? It is no wonder Argentina's policies are crap if she leads meetings in this way. Everyone must come out of the meetings thinking, what the hell are we supposed to do?
Birds fly to the Falklands and then onto south america so thats another reason for them to have it? WTF? Birds migrate all over the world.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 09:01 pm - Link - Report abuse 0F*cking migrating birds, flora and fauna??? WTF??

Jun 14th, 2012 - 09:04 pm - Link - Report abuse 0She's on to geography now. And now she's mentioned NON-BINDING UNGA resolutions. She hasn't mentioned the ONE UNSC resolution, argieland didn't obey.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 09:04 pm - Link - Report abuse 0There were negotiations between my country and the United Kingdom. In the middle of WW2! There were some more as well. That argieland walked out on.
Begone BITCH!

d) Someone just ranting about nothing really.
Still not sure what their strategy is.
Well, thank you, CFKC, that is as clear as mud. She does not understand that none of this matters because self-determination trumps everything under UN laws.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 09:07 pm - Link - Report abuse 0its so random, i think tinman is worried
Jun 14th, 2012 - 09:08 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Unbelievable how poor they have stated their case. As you say Mr Yoghurt what exactly is their strategy? I'm now completely non plussed.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 09:08 pm - Link - Report abuse 0why is she now cribbing from a document written decades ago?
@38 So she talks about sharing everything and then at the end she talks about joining everything into the social and economic life of Argentina.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 09:09 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Sounds like thinly veiled bollox to me.

@42 nope just copying Peron who copied Hitler. 3rd hand copying.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 09:11 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Basically they are now denying that the Falklands war had nothing to do with them! WTF.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 09:12 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Seems she hasn't heard of VE and VJ day celebrations..
Jun 14th, 2012 - 09:12 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Ha Ha I can't believe what she just said what would people in Germany think if Britain celebrated VE day? we do..?
Jun 14th, 2012 - 09:13 pm - Link - Report abuse 0seems she hasn't taken her pills today.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 09:13 pm - Link - Report abuse 0sounds like to me that the committee dont want to deal with it pass the book
Jun 14th, 2012 - 09:13 pm - Link - Report abuse 0dont think she got the response she was after, although it was good that falklands representitives got their say, bet that went down well with her not that i give a fig what she thinks

Jun 14th, 2012 - 09:15 pm - Link - Report abuse 0No reason to lie, insult or bully others. WTF! they call us pirates, insult us and the falklanders at every turn and now play the victim. Unbelievable.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 09:15 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Now they say that they cant identify the remains of their soldiers on the islands!!
Unbelievable bollocks.
Good to know we upset her today with a couple of flags.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 09:15 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Good lord, this is just lies. She's not even talked about the British being in the islands since before 1800's.

Jun 14th, 2012 - 09:21 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Hitler was famed for his nonsensical rambling rants. The German phrase for it was 'chewing the carpet' and she definitely is doing that. I hope she doesn't go on too much longer as I want to go and watch Question Time .
Jun 14th, 2012 - 09:22 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I think her face is melting... she's saying Argentina follows UN resolutions.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 09:23 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Bollox. Nestor walked out of negotiations.
I think she is trying to say Argentina doesn't like non-Argentinians. Don't know quite how well that is going to go down at the UNITED NATIONS!!!
Jun 14th, 2012 - 09:24 pm - Link - Report abuse 0The Black Bitch is now trying to relieve argieland of responsibility for the Falklands War.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 09:25 pm - Link - Report abuse 0The dozy cow has now spoken about the self-defence of South America.
She's now trying to suggest that a Security Council member can ignore a UN resolution whilst another member can't.
She now wants to defend the United Nations.
She's now threatened economic warfare.
What a ramble. No credibility.
The longer she talks, the more aire time in Arg, the better her public opinion with the voters. It is all for domestic consumption.

Jun 14th, 2012 - 09:33 pm - Link - Report abuse 0you have to see Chile's actions in the context of the importance of Argentina for Chile and that the FI is a non issue. I think the Chilean govt have calculated that Arg is not going to get anywhere with their claims, so Chile's bluff will not be called.
surprise surprise kfc runs away and ignores the rest of the meeting.

Jun 14th, 2012 - 09:38 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I think someone needs to point out to Venezuela that Argentina were the invading army.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 09:38 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I think Venezuela has forgotten about their demands for parts of Guyana too.

Jun 14th, 2012 - 09:46 pm - Link - Report abuse 0@93 Because they don't care about the islanders. It's just the same old bollocks, now it's over nothing will change.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 09:48 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I'm still amazed this committee exists.
Its so biased its now impossible for it to have a balanced conversation on this issue. The Falklanders are treated as though they dont exist. brazil praising that pathetic speech by The botox queen.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 09:50 pm - Link - Report abuse 0why are Brazil there? they're not a member of the committee....
Jun 14th, 2012 - 09:51 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Ah Malvinero1 you do provide entertainment. I shall never miss your use of capitals.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 09:51 pm - Link - Report abuse 0That's the funny thing about the Committee, is they don't care who exists or who doesn't exist. They've never even been to the islands.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 09:52 pm - Link - Report abuse 0They're all just desperate to grab land off anyone they can do.

Jun 14th, 2012 - 09:53 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Here comes Brazil now, playing the same old record of please be nice to argentina... they wont shut up unless we get the Falklands for them

Jun 14th, 2012 - 09:54 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Brazil is basically Argentina's massive but stupid friend.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 09:54 pm - Link - Report abuse 0All the economic problems around the world and money is wasted on giving this collection of despots, morons and compulsive liars a big room to spew their pointless rubbish. The UN could do with some serious streamlining.

Jun 14th, 2012 - 09:55 pm - Link - Report abuse 0You are going to have a long, long, long, long wait, how does never, sound like to you. The Isrealis used to have a saying, Tomorrow in Jerusalem. They had that saying for nearly 2000 years before it came true. Here's one for you, Tomorrow in Puerto Argentina. Maybe in 2000 years, even then I doubt it. Just think of how many C24 meetings you can attend between now and then,
@103 I think that was the point. This committee does absolutely nothing for anyone.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 09:56 pm - Link - Report abuse 0It just gives terrible governments a place to shout.
Holy shit! Even China could not be arsed to take argentina's side
Jun 14th, 2012 - 09:57 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Also... Nicaragua calling CFK her excelency is just sad on so many levels
In an act of generousity, Argentina may eventually be granted the Falklands. Unfortunately the next day we'll all be boarding Starship Britannia and zooming off to New Earth, leaving the Malvinistas to be incinerated by the supernova, oops.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 09:58 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Nicaragua seem to forget about the invasion in 1982.... Does anyone have a list of who's scheduled to speak? i hope the Falklanders get a chance to reply.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 10:00 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Anyone find China and Russia talking about colonialism disturbing. We are talking about one country forcing control over Tibet and another covering the largest landmass of any other country. It's nauseating.

Jun 14th, 2012 - 10:02 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Brazil is doing the same as Chile: supporting CFKs lost cause in exchange for concessions behind closed doors.
I was thinking the same. Why do they forget the war of 1983? I guess something about the OAS.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 10:02 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Nicaragua are hilarious. They're just hilarious.
Russia turning up and talking about colonialism. you couldnt make it up.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 10:02 pm - Link - Report abuse 0For those who or new to the C24 videos and are shocked at what you are hearing, trust me its the same shit from the same countries every year, this is no different. The only difference is CFK turned up and spoke even more shit. They are corrupt.
Jun 14th, 2012 - 10:02 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I know it's the same sh!t. But watching the Syrian guy talking about the committee makes it even more hilarious [whilst they're killing their own people].
Jun 14th, 2012 - 10:05 pm - Link - Report abuse 0He seems to think Argentina supports the rights of people, and their belief in pacific solutions (1983 Falklands War).

Jun 14th, 2012 - 10:13 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Anybody noticed the crashing sense of irony when the Syrian ambassador said he supported self-determination....bit rich coming from a country which currently is doing its damnedest to stop such a principle occurring within its own borders...
Bravo Sierra Leone!

Apparently the Rattenbach report on Argentina's botched Falklands invasion hid name of a Falkland Islander who had collaborated with the invading forces.
Although Betts today didn't say more than he left the Falklands because he was discriminated against for his pro-Argentine views, obviously, if he was an overt collaborator with the invaders, he should have left with them. However, saying one agrees with the Argentine invaders implies agreeing with the fascist Military Junta as well.
However, Penguin News deputy editor John Fowler dished on Betts that he left his second wife and kids in the Falklands so he could take up with an Argentine woman.

Jun 14th, 2012 - 10:45 pm - Link - Report abuse 0all that we ask for is the right to determine our own future without having to endure the belligerent and bullying tactics of a neighbouring country
this committee and its members are expected to adopt resolutions on the basis of an impartial and informed understanding of the issues. How can this Committee truly understand the issue and adopt resolutions when it has never officially visited our Islands?
Argentina has consistently attempted and, quite rightly failed to dilute the principle of self-determination under the United Nations Charter
History does not support Argentina and neither do any of the modern principles of the United Nations Charter
96% of the electorate wished to retain the status quo and remain as an Overseas Territory of the United Kingdom enjoying full internal Self Government while looking to the United Kingdom for guidance on its foreign policy and for its defence, such defence only being required because of the ongoing belligerence shown by our closest neighbour
there is one in the Argentine delegation today who has already declared this exhibition of self-determination to be illegitimate and not complying with international law. Perhaps he is suggesting that the United Nations Charter itself is illegal; because it supports the right of all peoples to determine their own future

I'm not so sure. It was a very poor effort by the Brazilians. They did not act in a top table statesman like manner and will need to suck up to the UK if they want to join the ranks of the big boys. to not even acknowledge the presence of the Falklanders whilst fawning over that stupid mad cow was a disgrace and did not show Brazil up in a very good light. Even the russians and chinese were more circumspect.

If brazil cannot stand up, for this position, there are others that may well stand in .
If south America cannot stabilise its self, without the dangers of internal conflict, or territorial aggression, then it is going nowhere but backwards,
No one is perfect, but if you give the impression that you are, then you back it up, must you not .
Suppose that in the building where you live, suddenly 5 armed immigrant families, seize 5 departments. Jun 14th, 2012 - 11:25 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Does one believe in democracy,
Did one signed up to the UN in good faith, and thus should respect the rights and self determination of others, [without nick picking bits and pieces]
If one declares that they have to much land, then why steal from others,
Argentina, [as far as I know] has massive recourses,,
Would it not be better that she concentrated on these, rather that others.
There is absolutely no need for any of this,
If one want peace, then [Spain] ad [argentina] should respect, the islanders wishes, allow them to rule them selves without threats or hindrances,,
And we can all get on with out lives, if Britain was more assertive in its response; we would not be here now,
So quiet frankly, to leave others in peace, and to concentrate on ones own problems,
Thus seeking help and advise, rather than greed and aggressive,
None of this would be happening .
Would it .

Chile and the UK have excellent relations. The UK fully understands Chile’s position and knows it. It was announced months ago, so it is no surprise to the UK. You can’t put Chile in that list of nations. By every UN and OECD measure Chile ranks as highly as the UK in terms of human right, freedom of the press, level of corruption and crime.
205 GY
You can’t really expect Chile to jeopardise its most important trade relationship over a non issue (in the sense that it will come to nothing). The UK wouldn’t do it either.
@2o5 Still worthy of us saying 'thanks' given that you tabled the draft resolution and your secretary spent a considerable amount of time salivating over the Argentine demand for land, whilst not even acknowledging the islanders. It would have been funny if someone mentioned the Argentinian land grab in the Southern Patagonian ice fields or Tierra del Fuego. You just have to remember, it's Falklands first, then Chile next. Politics is a dubious business, we all know that, but the events of this committee have genuinely shocked those who saw it in operation.
It was frankly appalling and simply unforgivable the way the south american nations went on. This behaviour wont be forgotten by those Brits who witnessed it.
@210 I think Chile should table a motion at the UN decolonisation comittee that they discuss this land that Bolivia wants (no interest in talking about the wishes of the people who live in the land) and they stand there salivating over Argentina while Bolivian authors read from books they're trying to sell about the bolivian route to the sea and bitter traitors say how bitter they are. You could then get Syria and North Korea to support the motion.

The more she can hype this issue up the more she can drown out the protests.

Jun 15th, 2012 - 12:59 am - Link - Report abuse 0Yes, a very good point as she has yet to make a official statement about the cacerolazo ! exception to one of her representatives saying they are not worried about the protests..
Bah she hasn't got time to make statements about the peasants! There are diamond earrings to buy, botox to pump and Timmerman to smack with the riding crop til he squeals like a gibbon. Priorities!
Jun 15th, 2012 - 01:28 am - Link - Report abuse 0From the BA Herald....”Fernández de Kirchner also reminded the committee that she had been joined by “.... mothers (of) war veterans who still haven’t been able to recover the remains of their sons and daughters.””
Jun 15th, 2012 - 04:20 am - Link - Report abuse 0There is an easy fix there....dig em up...ship em back....
I'm personally still laughing at how a UN Committee even contemplates having the discussion of forcing foreign sovereignty on a people/population who in no way desire it. Even more-so providing a stage to what appears to be someone professing a rehashing of Adolf's Generalplan Ost to thunderous applause.

And yet he keeps on wan****. That's commitment. In fact, I think he should be committed as soon as possible. If he hasn't been already.
@141 No speaky de Chinky. Ah so!
@148 Where's Briyain?
@154 Who cares? If one did it was probably just some slimy turncoat traitor. Like that bloke Bingham. There's a real sh*te. Peck Jr is much the same. But there are undoubtedly cells, or ropes, waiting for both of them.
@178 Good point. IF I lived in a building and an armed gang came along whilst I was out and occupied my apartment, when I came back I'd shoot them through the head. Aren't you glad that, in 1833, the British weren't like me?
@185 The colony wasn't Legal Argentina. It was Illegal Squatter on British territory. Do you know how to tell time in YEARS? Can you understand that all the YEARS between 1690 and 1776 came BEFORE 1833? But I do like your arithmetic. Four civilians left the Falkland Islands in 1833 of their own volition. I reckon to turn that into 15,000 they'd have to have been at it like rabbits. No doubt you can prove your figues and assertions, muppet. You know, birth, marriage and death certificates. Let's see 'em!
Well.........................
Jun 15th, 2012 - 05:45 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I see that most of the brainvashed Brutish turnips are quite shocked after hearing with their own ears what the true position of Chile, Brazil and the rest of Latin America is, in respect of the Malvinas issue.........
Malvinas issue There's no such place and no issue. Learn to live with reality.
Jun 15th, 2012 - 05:49 pm - Link - Report abuse 0@226 In YOUR province, aren't mining and petroleum important parts of the economy? Also prime military targets. Want to figure what 100 cruise missiles could do? Also, step too far out of line, and you will find there are a lot more than 4 Typhoons on the Falklands. Start something and there'll be none of that avoiding civilian casulaties crap. So who cares what the rest of Latin America thinks? You probably won't be around to appreciate it. HMS Dauntless is one indication that Britain is getting pissed off with your tuppenny-ha'penny country. The possibility that there may be one, or more, of our nuclear-powered submarines in the area is another. You are being considered as a threat. Not a good status to have. But we'll let you make the first move. Go on. Make your move.

Jun 16th, 2012 - 10:04 am - Link - Report abuse 0Here's a prediction for you. In 25 years time Argentina will exist and will be governing Las Malvinas. The main British economic activity will consist of the Brits spending their days dumpster diving.
@232 Aww bless you for your concern Herpes, I hope your bitter little fantasies keep you warm when your lights and heating go off soon... :)
Jun 16th, 2012 - 11:51 am - Link - Report abuse 0@232 I'll make you a return prediction. One day, when the Earth is very, very, very cold and just about a year before the Sun goes nova, Britain and the Falkland Islands will get together and tell argieland You can have the place now. We're heading off to our new planet. On the last spacecraft to leave this one. Sorry there's no room for you. But it'll be warm again soon. Enjoy!

Jun 16th, 2012 - 06:20 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Will you come back in 25 years, and prove that statement,
Argentina has been around less than 200 years,
The British have been around over 2,000 years
We thinks we will stick to reality, and not your fantasy,
Besides if that Mayan prophecy comes true, you will all be dead by 21 dec 2012,
And we will still be here .lol

Jun 16th, 2012 - 10:09 pm - Link - Report abuse 0My, my David really got to you didn't he. The PM was simply stating the truth, hurts does is it not? Falklands in 25 years? dream on, if it helps dealing with your frustration at reaching for something you can never have. I sympathise with you. Wishing for the Falklands, it must be like searching for the fountain of youth or seeking the secret of immortality?
Mind you,

she might get lost for a couple of decades .

Jun 17th, 2012 - 09:10 am - Link - Report abuse 0The Tories aren't my cup of tea but DC is a very strong leader. Rest assured he will totally defend the falklands and he will make the Argentine goverment fully aware of their hyprocisy and folly.

Jun 18th, 2012 - 10:56 pm - Link - Report abuse 0BLOW YOUR HEAD OFF....NOTHING WHAT YOU HAVE SAID WILL HAPPEN...I REPEAT THE UK BARKS WHEN THE US TELL THEM TO BARK....SO SHUT UP IMBECIL ...
Argentina's democracy is barely the timespan of a decent length mortgage in the Western world. It is not far enough away from the actions of the military junta and therefore still demonstrates what appears to be its innate resorting to aggression and force. Argentina's people did too little to oppose the military when they were in power and what was done by the military was done in their name whether or not they accept this. Argentina's behaviour is infantile in the World of democracy like a child throwing its toys out of the pram when it does not get what it wants. Mature democracies will not give in to this blackmail.
Jun 19th, 2012 - 11:47 am - Link - Report abuse 0Against this, the United Kingdom is a long-standing, never-conquered democracy, a powerful member of the United Nations, a permanent member of the security council, an EU member, a NATO member, a Commonwealth member and a respected member of the international community.
Despite many attacks on the UK by terrorists et al over the years, including the attempted assassination of the Prime Minister, the UK did not give in to terrorists and those using force to achieve their aims. We never give in and we never give up.
The Falkland Islands is an overseas territory of the UK, and this will remain so. Perhaps it is time to incorporate the Falklands into the United Kingdom itself (as an autonomous entity), and remove any doubt that Argentina may have as to our position, or that of our British Citizens in residence there.
One begins to experience serious fatigue listening to the 'macho-moaning' emanating from Queen Christina and Lapdog Timerman. It is only a matter of time before they fade into irrelevance with this broken record.
The wise thing to do (explains why they haven't done it!), would have been to woo the islanders ... but that would have required patience, something Argentina is short of, along with food, jobs, diplomacy, as well as foresight and hindsight.
Argentina is an aggressor. It knows no other way, and cannot demonstrate otherwise.

Jun 20th, 2012 - 01:11 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Not true miss Sussie if your referring to the war in Iraq for example it was actually Tony B who stated we had unfinished business with Saddam, but Bush being Bush came in and took all the credit despite him being the effective poodle of Blair's foreign policy.

Jun 20th, 2012 - 09:45 pm - Link - Report abuse 0What a wonderful way of informing me that I replied to your comment. I was unaware my Question was directed at Mr Conqueror, I do apologise Miss Sussie. My point is still relevant though it was Tony Blair who inspired many including your former President Bush that Saddam had to go, however Bush being Bush took all the credit and made it an American operation. So I think you will find that Britain doesn't bark when the US says, on the contrary it was the opposite in this case.
