Such a democratic process!
Sep 18th, 2012 - 10:12 am - Link - Report abuse 0Patriota may 'trust' Chavez to run an uncorrupt election. This does not mean he 'believes' it will happen.
Sep 18th, 2012 - 10:18 am - Link - Report abuse 0Ah, this is the type of 'democracy' that TTT, BK and the rest of the La Campora trolls admire so much.
Sep 18th, 2012 - 10:59 am - Link - Report abuse 0Difficult to see how a broadcast celebrating his government's achievements and extolled the virtues of socialism could be social programs ... aimed at helping the poorest, not buying votes. It's rigging. This isn't democracy, it's fraud. Venezuelans needs to wake up! If Chavez can do it for the poor, so can others. But Venezuelans may not need to be brainwashed in the process! How about a country that cares more for the people than for the state?
Sep 18th, 2012 - 12:14 pm - Link - Report abuse 0It is too bad the poor people of Venezuela really don't know what is going on behind the scenes. Chavez manipulates their thoughts and makes promises about a future that has yet to come, if he helps the poor so much please explain why there are so many that are still poor? Someone other than Chavez needs to win and whoever that is, Capriles, or not this country need to reconsider their constitution and their presidential reelections.

If commenters #1 through #7 only slightly change the country name and people identified, you all could be talking about the good old US of A, or Great Briton, or Russia. Funny how that works.

”Chavez, you are the heart of the people,” said one toddler, echoing the government's principal campaign slogan.'
If any politician tried training kids like this in the UK he'd be strung up.

So Chavez sets up an emergency system whereby he can address the nation and then uses it for his Castroesque speeches and only coincidentally when the opposition get some TV airtime.
