It was successful because it is one of the less bad ways of protecting peso savings from inflation. If you can't buy dollars then an investment indexed against the dollar is probably the next best thing. I would expect investors to still make a real terms loss but just less of a loss than elsewhere. It needs to be indexed to the market rate not the official rate to actually generate a gain.
.. payable in Pesos,(?) Not much you can do with pesos these days. No one wants them. The reality market here is all but shut down because no one wants pesos and if you were selling,..you can't get you money out of the country. What a waste of time.

lol
You can just imagine the deluded prats such as Prat-Junta, Dunni-Burger and the rest hailing this as a sign AG are being respected by the world’s financial institutions!
I am sure that when it comes to collect on this oil money it will fit into my bank account quite nicely. Better than probable bet on Falkl... whoops Malvinas expenive to extract from the sea oil
None of the loan was for exploration, like the Falklands though, AFAIK. loan to cover payroll, business is down from last year and they don't have ANY of the cheap financing backed by S.pain, Euro
And the oil money from the American oil company’s who were graced by TMBOA presence just recently?
And the money that was BOUND to come after the world trip taken by the CEO of YPF in the last months?
And Chevron is going to carry out fracking in the Dead Cow field free of charge!
BUT! Where is it all? Has TMBOA decided to keep it for herself, FatBoy and SlimGirl for their joint and imminent retirement?
Wait for the next episode at next week’s Saturday morning matinee courtesy of the AG government: AND I MEAN THAT MOST SINCERELY FOLKS!
Apologies to those who have never heard of the Saturday morning pictures that were a favourite of children in the UK in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s and to Hughie Greene (deceased) the smarmy TV host who would have been lauded by the argies for his ‘sincerity’.
