The International Press Institute (IPI) released a final report on its May 2012 press freedom mission to Ecuador, stating that the nation’s private media outlets are being targeted by the government of President Rafael Correa. Read full article
Oh I see, so Assange can report whatever he wants then cowardly seeks refuge in the consulate of a country who's head of state does not believe in a free press in his own country. Banana republics are an endless source of amusement.
Well he has a nice open prison to go to in Sweden if he wishes, it's his choice. I'm currently in Florida and weather is lovely down here, I'm sure the CIA would welcome him here also.
So? If he needs a doctor he only has to step outside. No one is abusing his rights to medical attention.
However, I think the Ecuadorians are getting ever more fed up of Assange, especially as they can not use him to score 'brownie' points. Even more so now that their own oppression of the media is ever more apparent to the outside world.
One night an ambulance will be called to the Ecuadorian embassy. Mr Assange will be taken to hospital for 'health reasons' and then subsequently arrested.
As soon as his health is deemed okay, he'll be on a flight to Sweden to face the allegations that he should've faced a long time ago.

Ecuadors mistake was getting involved with Assange.
If the conditions in the embassy are so bad that it is damaging his health then the Ecuadorians should spend some cash on improving the place. How bad is it?
There's no reason at all why his health would suffer simply because he chooses to stay inside. This is just a case of the Ecuadorians testing the water and keeping the story in the news.
With any luck he'll have an acute episode of something or other that requires immediate hospitalisation. How's his appendix?
Correa is biding his time for the demise of his ailing compadre, Hugo Chávez, to leave the scene in order to take over leadership of ALBA. His latest idea is to force the private banks to use their profits to buy government bonds to finance his social programs for the under privileged thus squeezing, again, the Ecuadorian middle classes.
IPI stands up for the Murdochian oligarchic media, Correa stands up for the real free speech hero Assange...
#7 Cristina, Correa, Chavez et all need no lessons, they need only look at the pathetic state of the oligarchic media
#8 Firstly, Chavez seems like he's over his illness, so I don't think there will be a vacancy. If there is, then Correa is a good candidate to fill it. But maybe not the only one - surely its time for Argentina to join ALBA...
