Once when the USA decided it didn't care about foreign policy, the Nazi's ran rampant across Europe, and the Japanese attacked the USA.

The next time the USA decided it didn't care about foreign policy a bunch of crazy terrorists hijacked some planes and flew them into the Twin Towers and the Pentagon.

Burying your heads in the sand and pretending that the rest of the world doesn't exist and isn't important has never really worked out for the US, has it?

There have been TWO Democratic Presidents since Roosevelt that have been re-elected to a second term: Truman and Clinton.

Well it seems he's either going to make a lot of peace or a lot of war, hope he takes Cristina's advice and goes for peace and justice though I don't have the confidence in the pupil that I have in the teacher I'm afraid

#4 I know, that was a real schoolboy howler. Democrats re-elected since Roosevelt in 1936 have been: Roosevelt 1940 & 1944 (an example for ma'am Cristina to follow!),Truman 1948, LBJ 1964, Clinton 1996

Santa Fe.....we own Guatanamo under a permanent lease. It's unlikely that we will leave that base. However, with the exception of Ramstein and South Korea, I say bring them all home. I think the 75,000 in Europe and the 40,000 in Japan would do much better for them to spen their money in the USA.
#3 if thats why to think the Japanese attacked Pearl, where do you study history. The USA refused to provide oil to Japan who was enbroiled in war with China. What exactly did the USA fail to do that started Germany's military machine from building after WWI, thus violating treaties? You seem to have the view that the USA is the most important country in the world by stating when we don;t care about foreign policy, the world goes to shit. BTW, what did we not do that caused WWII, because that's a real now take on the war? The USA can't get a break, if we don't do foreign policy we are sticking our heads in the sand, if we do, we think we are the worlds police.

I think the only ones that matter to the USA are it's citizens. We give away 1% of our national budget to foreign countries in aid, I think it can be better spent in the USA 38 billion in the USA.
