Falklands’ oil explorer Desire Petroleum announced on Friday that the findings of a Competent Person’s Report, CPR, have confirmed the potential of its discoveries offshore the Islands in the North Falkland Basin. Read full article
As a Geologist you can say what you like. However I suspect potential investors will be more interested in what the CPR says. Call it an educated guess!
Sounds nice for the Falklanders. It will be nice to see huge fat tankers loaded with wealth sailing past Argentina - all thanks to the stupidity of the KFC regime.

Give us a clue - how many fair minded Brits won't stand for it
What do you intend to do about it ? Find a quorum of 4 and lobby your local MP .
Who is your local MP ?
Nevertheless……
My recommendation as a ”Competent Person” to all you British Turnips is….:BUY, BUY, BUY…..................................................
Mortgage your homes, sell the car, pimp the missus, kick those parasitic kids out and invest all your monies in Despire Petroleum shares…
I guarantee that, if you do, you will “Think” about me for the rest of your lifes……
@21
The British oíl firms are stúpid to prefer these côld islands ráther than vást oíl réserves of South America Mesopotamia basín.
If they assist with Argentinian oil they won't get anything except defaulted debts, at least dealing with an honest government like the FIG they won't lose money.
Relax BK.

Please please tell us an answer. I asked you as we'll, after you made your strongly worded accusation and following statement.
Thirty years ago, we fought a war, not many Brits including me had heard of the Falkland Islands, the UK government were this close, this close, to cutting them loose.
Then the shit hit the fan and what did the news tell us. The Islanders made their living from raising sheep. Needs must and in no way do I seek to casticate them for that.
Well since then thirty years has gone by in a flash! I know it, because I have lived it.
Lets come back in another thirty years time shall we, though I am not sure I want to, be one hell of a wrinkl theny, see how the islanders have done, because if the last thirty have been anything to go by, the next thirty will be spectacular. OIl or no oil!
@27 nice try lightstink but what has your half hearted attempt got to do with the Falkland Islands, it's called international law africa for a reason, ITS TO DO WITH AFRICA.
@26 Well since then thirty years has gone by in a flash! I know it, because I have lived it. Here here matey me too and they wonder why we get anti

If you are disparaging enough to think the Falklands are a hen coop, then why are you desperate to gain control over them ?
Avarice ? Is it jealousy because they maybe are making a success of their land in contrast to Argentina, or is it a feeling of national humiliation because you got well and truly put down on your last disastrous adventure ?
Given Argentina's attitude towards The Falklands, her coveting of Falkland Oil and their attempts to damage the economy, the Falklanders and the Chilean inhabitants, have a close friendship.
#38
I take it from your cogent remark above that you agree with self determination for the Falklands and no interference from Argentina in their affairs.
Potential, with regard to oil exploration, is a word that usually means that there is a potential tomb for the money with which you buy oil exploration companies' shares.
Try petrol companies intead. Shares can be dearer but their return is worth the trouble.

A positive ”Competent Person Report”, given by British independent ”Energy Consultant Senergy” to ”Despire Petroleum” of Britain…..
The same independent ”Senergy Energy Consultant” that ”Despire Petroleum” exploration director, Ken Black, used to be a director of, I gather…….

No wonder that the city has no confidence in this ”Competent Person Report”………
