    TWIMC

Officially the Organization of American States, based in Watchington, DC declares to work for the “Strengthening of Peace and Security”, the “Consolidation of Democracy” and the “Promotion of Human Rights”…

But, history tell us that the event that gave birth to the OAS, as it stands today, was the “International Conference of American States” held in Colombia between March / May 1948.
A meeting which led to a pledge by members to fight communism in the western hemisphere.

    That’s maybe why…:
The OAS did NOTHING against the Argentinean rightwing military coups in 1955, 1962, 1966 and 1976……
The OAS did NOTHING against the Bolivian rightwing military coups in 1951, 1964, 1971 and 1980……
The OAS did NOTHING against the Brazilian rightwing military coups in 1954 and 1964……
The OAS did NOTHING against the Chilean rightwing military coup in 1973……
The OAS did NOTHING against the Colombian rightwing military coup in 1953……
*** The OAS suspended socialist Cuba in 1962……***
***The OAS did NOTHING against USA’s invasion in support of the Santo Domingo rightwing military coup in 1963 ……***
The OAS did NOTHING against the Ecuadorian rightwing military coups in 1963 and 1972……
***The OAS did NOTHING against USA’s invasion of socialist Grenada in 1983 ……***
The OAS did NOTHING against the Guatemalan rightwing military coups in 1963 and 1982……
The OAS did NOTHING against the Honduran rightwing military coups in 1956, 1963, 1972, 1975 and 1978……
The OAS did NOTHING against the Paraguayan rightwing military coups in 1954 and 1989……
The OAS did NOTHING against the Peruvian rightwing military coups in 1948 and 1962……
The OAS did NOTHING against the Salvadorian rightwing military coups in 1960 and 1979……
The OAS did NOTHING against the Uruguayan rightwing military coup in 1973……
The OAS did NOTHING against the Venezuelan rightwing military coup in 1948 and 2002...

Time to send the OAS to pasture.

@3 I don't Think aka “The Turnip In Chief”

Should I change your extended tag to 'Unreconstructed Communist In Chief'’ or ‘Blind_Scottie_Kirchnerists Deputy’?

The pair of you have much in common:
    1) Blind belief in TMBOA;
    2) Anything other than the left is bad. It reminds me of ‘Animal Farm’ and the cry of “Four legs good, two legs bad” until that is the pigs attain the goal of supremacy and start walking about on two legs! Ha, ha, ha.
    3) Any country in LatAm no matter how much of a nut-job runs it must be better than a western country.

Unasur, another lefty outfit that pronounced Dead Man Walkings’ win, though with better accuracy than you managed. Insider information or vote stuffing?

You two really do deserve one another and the likes of TMBOA and all her crooks.

Unasur.......The commercial tagline is........Come on down, a great club were countries come to die a slow, insignificant death.

Brazil and Chile is the savior of all of south america. They, more so Brazil is at a point where they need to shit or get off the pot. It's a tough act to balance playing a game in the international community and staying friends with the despots in UNASUR. But South America wanted to be a united continent like other continents.....it will never happen with the latin leaders mentality.
Buenas Nochas UNASUR.....stay in you side of the world

    (8) reality check

How long did it take me to research and type my post No.(3), you ask….?

    Lets see...........

Ten seconds to find a relevant list on Wikipedia....
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_successful_coups_d%27%C3%A9tat

Ten more seconds to cut and paste it in a Word document…..

About five minutes to proofread and clean the list from superfluous info and the few leftwing military coups that happened in South America….

Some five more minutes to take note of some grave omissions on that list and mail them the to the relevant Wikipedians….
    (F. ex.; CIA agent Manuel Noriega, 1983 coup in Panama is not mentioned)

    So….. All in all some …… 10 minutes…..top.

And..............., to answer you last question about if I “Think” that true data could influence your position on any subject….

Yes, I do “Think” that, for the less turnipy of you there is still a chance to learn something when presented with true facts….
