I emailed Seaborun myself earlier ans asked them if the Argentine report was true and that the Falklands were no longer on their itinerary, they replied:

    “”“”Dear Mr ABCDEF,

Thank you for contacting Seabourn Cruise Line regarding the Falkland Islands. Internally at this time we have not been advised of any change to our South American itineraries which at this point include the Falkland Islands through 2014.

If you have any additional questions or concerns, please do contact us.

    Hey you antis argentine people-haters,

What does Argentina have to do with this news? It was the cruise ship line that made a statement of X, and if we believe this news they did Y. So what does Argentina have to do with their behavior?

It just reinforces the image of the anglo-saxons are lying, duplicitous nicompoops. If there stories are true, they lied... you guys are proud of that? If it were an argie ship saying it would not do something and still did it... oh boy you argie-haters would be all over it.

But, on the positive, we now know where this vessel will never be docking AGAIN...

Thanks, that's very kind of you but I've been to all those places on cruise ships before. I'm curious to know why you feel this story had nothing to do with Argentina. Why do you think the cruise liner came to make the comment to Argentine port authorities that they had no plans to visit the Falklands? Just small talk? I doubt it. The port authority personnel must have questioned them. Also, who would've let Mercopress know and why? Doesn't add up and you know it. This was an Argentine propaganda attempt that backfired and you know that too.

It looks like the Argentine gov has embarked on some sort of propaganda campaign. The only trouble is that they are very bad at it. They should speak to the Brits. They could teach them plenty about the art of propaganda.

From your perspective I could even understand your conviction... The rest of South America being hooked to the drug that is the “international bond market”, and to excessive trade exchange with the North... yet they lost their sovereignty in the processs.

Now they have no diplomatic maneuvering room, because if they even deviate one decimeter from the commands from Brussels, Washington, or Beijing, they are punished with immediate trade and distabilization of their bonds.

They now can only aspire to truckling to nations who themselves now have submitted to a banking coven.

If you guys like that sort of stuff... but leave us alone.

    @40 Nozzy

They HAVE their sovereignty and many options because they have stable growing economies service their debt reliably and money on tap to fund their own industries or initiatives of their choosing.

Argentina will, de facto, lose their sovereignty because they have no funding which translates into NO OPTIONS to do as they please. Argentina will have to sit by and watch others prosper because Argentina cannot participate.

They will have to sell their inefficiently produced goods at a deep discount to compete and their margins of return will be ever decreasing.

Pretty soon, they'll be begging for 'table scraps', agreeing to anything (loss of sovereignty) for some investment capital.
Perhaps a 'sponsor' nation like Brazil will take them over, paternally of course. Or maybe China will hold out a hand, with some CONDITIONS, of course.

Bahamas is not even an independent nation, it's head of state sits in London. The rest of the world may swallow British agitprop, but Argentina does not. It is my conviction that fact explains some of the animosity that emanates from the anglo-saxons here, that Argentina is so publicly incredulous about all the propaganda the UK, and the “west” have foisted on the rest of the planet about the ultimate purpose of their “institutions” (IMF, WB, Commonwealth, OAS, UN, etc).

Which is why Argentina is withdrawing one by one from all of them.

O.K. I accept that you wish to break off diplomatic relations with the UK - that is your personal standpoint.
However, your government still seems to want to keep the “status quo” for whatever reason by keeping an Ambassador in London and the Embassy open. This being the case, then your statement that Argentina “does not have relations with the UK” is factually incorrect. You are quite ruthless in pointing out “factual errors” in others but you are equally guilty of posting incorrect statements.
As you clearly wish to break off any relations with the UK, contact your political representative and get him/her to pass a bill in your legislative assembly to enact this.
I am sure that the UK government could survive this diplomatic reverse.
However, your government seem to think that they gain some advantage keeping the diplomatic channels open.

How about the 150 million african-americans, and 100 million descendants of native american indentured servitude? That's a start.

As for Argentina, well, if you pay up your debts from the Barings Crisis, and the Spanish and French their debs from our famine aid in the 40s and 50s, and the Italians pay back the loans of the Friendship Centennial fund... I'd be ok with that.

You don't undestand isolationism do you... Isolationism is a NATION-STATE policy, not a policy at an individual level. Individuals should be free to do whatever they wish.

Isolationism serves Argentina by not allowing corrupt, depraved, iniquitous foreign nations (governments) from taking advantage of it. Isolationism is not a policy lead at the individual level. A country can be isolationist but the citizen still has to provide for himself, and must be ready to outcompete anyone.

Ultimately, if isolationism is succesful, you can operate from within your country and either make a living locally or from your homeland by providing superior skills to exterior companies... but that still leaves the country protected because those are individual arrangements, private arrangements... not something that will hold the entire nation hostage.

The country itself should stay out of international organizations and not be allies with anyone. I've always said an isolationist nation/society can still trade with others, by using direct cash or barter.

    Yes we do ais Argentina

AN e-petition has been placed on the HM Government petition website calling for the UK Government to stop giving financial aid to countries, such as Argentina, who act against British policies, peoples and beliefs.

Wayne John Faulkner has petitioned the Department for International Development, noting, ”We the undersigned, being concerned at the senseless waste of British taxpayers money, call upon the UK Government, to stop giving money and assistance to countries who act against British Policies, peoples and beliefs. In particular we object to Overseas aid to India, a country with a space program and the World's second fastest growing economy behind that of China; to Argentina, through our guarantees to both the World Bank and contributions to European Union Aid, a country that continues to oppress the Falkland Islands and its lawful population of British Citizens; and certain voting member countries of the Organisation of American States (OAS), that are also in receipt of British Overseas Aid, yet align themselves against British Interests in the South Atlantic. Together, we insist that Overseas Aid is subject to rigorous assessment regarding how such Aid is awarded and includes a proviso that there is active promotion and support of British Interests.”

What does proportionality have to do with anything? It proves nothing except that you conflated the issues.

If you have 10000 slaves in a city of 30000, is it a significant proportion? yes.

But the issue was Argentina in proportion to the Americas... 10000 slaves is a drop in the bucket vs 1 million slaves to Brazil, 1 million slaves to Gran Colombia, 1 million slaves to the Caribbean, 1 milion slaves to the USA, etc...

Here we go again, alternate view of historical facts.

“You would have thought that the Great Argentines helping you stay alive during WWII you would be a little more quiet.”

You sold the UK food at an inflated price and did very nicely out of it, so plese, pack in the false benevolance claim.

At the end of the war, you demanded payment from a country, instrumental in defeating Nazism, much to the chagrin, hopes and inspirations of your el Presidente Peron.

In 1947 Clement ATTLEE negotiated payment in kind, which provided you with the then state of the art Jet Technology, The Gloster Meteor. Argentine pilots and technician were brought to the UK and trained to fly and maintain the aircraft. You received more than 100 of them and 17 Bombers. That made you the 7th Nation in the world and the only counrty in S America to have the technology.

Not a bad trade, for “keeping us alive” during the war!

Those my RG revisionist are the true facts.

I've decided to provide a brief summary what we've learned today from a La Campora Brown-shirt.

    a) Maximo 'Obese' Kirchner is the Argentinian equivalent of our head of state, the Queen and deserves to live in a presidential palace.
    b) Isolationism rather than just remaining isolated, involves learning lots of languages so you can communicate effectively with people's of other nationalities.

What we haven't learned from the La Campora Brown-shirt:
    c) Where did the $2billion for the new planes for Aerolingus 'Plummet' Airlines go after being given to La Campora?
    d) Why did the $560million profits for the sale of YPF under Menem go into, and remain in, a 'personal bank' account of an unnamed individual?
    e) When is Mr Obese taking charge of the dictatorship?

I'd like some answers on the final points, thanks Tobias.

I presume the definition of animus you mean refers to ill will and spitefulness towards Argentina.
Could there possibly be a reason for this ?
    Let me see......
Could it have anything to do with an unprovoked invasion by your country -not a Junta - but your country, against a lightly defended island group called the Falklands.
The sight of your troops swaggering about Stanley has influenced British opinion to this day. I can still remember the scenes from Buenos Aires of crowds cheering, waving flags and screaming
    A-R-G-E-N-T-I-N-A.
My reaction was that we are going to have sort these bastards out and we did !
The result of your action cost the lives of many people for no real purpose.
Thirty years on, we have it all starting again and you have the cheek to wonder why we distrust your country ! Has the leopard changed its spots...I do not think so.
My reply also is that there is too much animus, jealousy and vengefulness in Argentina towards anyone who does not agree with their perception of the world
I have no objections to a prosperous Argentina....good luck to you if you can carry it through without screwing everyone else on the way.
Your thoughts of Argentina being the only country on the planet with the correct model of economic and social stability reminds me of the following anecdote.
The parents of a soldier are watching the regiment marching through their home town.
“Look” says the mother“they are all out of step but our Jock ”

ps. As a linguist you should try proof reading before you post
There is no“c” in subjugation. I thought that this was a new obscure word taken from a thesaurus but it was just a spelling mistake.
Likewise distabilization has only one letter “i”

I leave you with this thought

@126 that strategy could work every day of the week. The feeble minded fools would refuse to understand that the next port was in the falklands and you're not lying if you say you're categorically NOT going to 'las malvinas'.

It only falls apart if they ask if you're going to the falklands, but i'm guessing the imbeciles involved wouldn't be able to figure that one out.

I've got a better idea..... We mere mortals on this forum have christen Nostrolldamus The 2nd “Tito the Clown Troll”, As far as I know, this username is not in use and he is quite welcome to it. Therefore, if he ever should forget his name or username, we would be happy to tell him.

“We have all learnt of his great wisdom, fantastic grasp of languages and outstanding IQ.”

Well you see my learned friend, only this morning I downloaded, onto my computer, for free, from the Microsoft website, a:-

    “Forum Bullsh*t detector”

and while you may cream your jeans when friend Nostrolldamus The 2nd posts something, it sends my detector off the f*cking scale!!!

Strangely, I tried it out on one of “Think”'s posts and it did the same thing........... I couldn't for the life of me work out why that was..........

@132 La Campora terrorise people in Argentina, and they terrorise people in the Falklands (not Argentina), and technically this makes them international terrorists. Because they are sponsored by the state, through massive amounts of money swindled out of Aerolingus Argentinas (allegedly) they're state sponsored international terrorists, ideologically aligned with Adolf Hitler.

Now, I remember what George W Bush specifically said about state sponsored international terrorism, and I don't think some Seattle company wants to be seen to be pandering to that. The PR department wouldn't like it.

Right, as if any anglo-saxon historian has any credibility whatsoever talking non-anglo-saxon nation histories. Everyone knows anglo-saxon history books inter all the negative about their history, and exult any positive. And only speak of the negatives about other countries.

That's why the Hungarians are considered to be the best historians.

    @137

The problem here is... You have not won a single battle or even skirmish in Argentina, ever.

1806: “On 4 August 1806, Liniers landed at Las Conchas, north of Buenos Aires, and advanced with a mixed force of Buenos Aires line troops and Montevideo Militia toward the city. On 10 August he took control of the strategic points of Miserere and El Retiro, holding the north and west entries to the city. Beresford finally surrendered on 14 August.”

1807: “By the end of 5 July, the British controlled Retiro and Residencia[17] at the cost of about 70 officers and 1,000 other ranks killed or wounded,[18] but the city's centre was still in the hands of the defenders, and the invaders were now demoralized. At this point, a counter-attack by the militias and colonial troops present, defeated many important British commanders, including Robert Crauford and Dennis Pack. Then Whitelocke proposed a 24-hour truce, which was rejected by Liniers, who ordered an artillery attack. After suffering 311 killed, 679 wounded and 1,808 captured or missing,[1] Whitelocke signed an armistice on 12 August.”

1845: “After the failure of the expedition to the Parana, Ouseley wrote to his government requesting 10,000 British soldiers, 10,000 French soldiers and an open declaration of war to conclude the conflict. However, unknown to him, Tomás Samuel Hood was already navigating to Buenos Aires with the opposite instructions from the allied countries: negotiate an end to the hostilities, at whatever price Rosas demanded.”

You probably are the saddest example of Britishism. You as a country do have many fine moments in battle in your 1000 year history... yet you try to deny similar monents to others through the use of mendacity, outright lies, or a consummate dishonesty and lack of integrity which is frankly appalling.

And in spite all of that... Your “comment” has nothing to do with anything. The Afro-Argentine Question has nothing to do with the British.

I sincerely hope President Mujica remembers that a few week ago he stated that Uruguay would do nothing to further a blockade of the Falkland Islands. I also hope he remembers that last week he said he was sick and tired of Argentine bullying. Unfortunately our president is well-known for being two-faced (“como te digo una cosa te digo la otra”) and he shown determination in standing up to Argentina.

A technical point, was Argentina a country in 1807 ?
I notice that some 600 black African slaves took part in the battles - I thought someone said that their were no slaves in“ARGENTINA”
However, credit where it is due, the British were comprehensively beaten in this theatre.
That was over 160 years ago and would not be indicative of current conditions prevailing. Would your country like a rematch, bearing in mind that we would not have to put a foot on the soil of your fair country - I use the adjective fair as meaning scenically attractive - NOT as unbiased.

@142, I'd call a ship, any ship, where the passengers are subjected to bingo, casino nights, and on one very special episode of Quincy (because they were ALL very special episodes) some mysterious disease, and don't get me started with a episode by episode rundown of Love Boat -- all delivered by a terrifyingly cheerful cruise director -- a whole lot of things. However, pirates and provocateurs wouldn't be on the list.

Ease down in the drama, girls.

“I offer 2000 $ reward to anyone willing to sink any pirate ships around Islas Malvinas Argentina.”

Ha ha ha ha ha ha!
I think you'll find one Argentine pirate ship is holed up in Ghana and another is broken down in South Africa and the ship that was going to join that one broke down a few miles from pirate land.

You can save your money, just get your pirate ships to open fire on the Royal Navy and they'll blow your 'scrapyard challenges 'to kingdom come for free! What a pity the RAF retired Sea Eagle years ago (you know ,the missile that made Exocet look like a paper dart?).

Another reason your money would be wasted paying someone to attack Argentine pirate ships is that they they would inevitably break down begging the prince in the yellow helicopter to fly all the way down and rescue them. Should the Falklanders allow your museum pieces to dock (the Charles Cooper and Lady Elizabeth are in better shape than your Argentine pirate ships) , you'll find that NML will gladly take them away for scrap.
