The reestablishment of a Falklands Department at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office has been announced by Peter Hayes, Director of the Overseas Territories, on Wednesday. Read full article
Ja, Ja, Ja!, Pirates, thieves .... also reflects the increasing political importance that Ministers and senior officials attribute to our Falklands work.“Supporting the Islanders’ right to self-determination and economic development is a key FCO objective for 2012/13”. Both statements go together, as the growing importance addresses the seizure of millions of square kilometers of the Argentine Sea and the projection to Antarctica Argentina is what interests them, and all camouflaged with the Ultra-False-Self Determination them is great.
Oh, regarding the South Georgia and South Sandwich Argentinas will vote the referndum penguins.
@2 José Malvinero
They are administering, “millions of square kilometers of”, what is, and always has been British Territory.
Truth is you have run out of S. America to conquer from the Indians, so you think you can now colonise British Territory in the S. Atlantic/Antarctic. The difference is that unlike Atahulapa, the British have more than just bows and arrows with which to defend their territory.
Give the referendum to the Patagonian Indians, see what they think about being colonised by Argentina.
@4 Pughol-H Yep...we should always stand firm to remind these odious nationalists that what they did to the Atahulapa will never be repeated with our people.
@5 Pirate Love You are so right...let them squeal all they like but never get what they want...it is great knowing we have history & the future on our side..
@2 Oh ho. Where is Antarctica Argentina? Is it that part of the British Antarctic Territory that Hitler told you it was OK to claim in 1942 when both you and he thought he was going to win the war? Shame he didn't win, wasn't it? Did you know that he's dead now? His promises mean nothing. We kicked his arse. Just like we kicked yours! Typical argies. Waste of time, space and air!
Anything that will send the message home to all open minded people of any nation that the Falkland Islanders (there are STILL no Malvinas you prats) are well settled, mature people, more than capable of running their affairs properly, has to be the correct thing to do.
I do hope that the UN C24 is instructed to take notice, in accordance to the UN Mandate, of the result of the referendum, as well as the request to be removed from the Decolonisation List.
Quite why this committee is still in existence is a mystery given the clear bias openly shown by the chairman toward Argentina and at the expence of the Islanders.
@8 So, who is that is going to instruct the C24 sovereign nations to take notice of the Referendum? Not the SG, he's a servant of the member States. The 4th Committee perhaps? Just one problem with that; all the C24 members are also in the 4th Committee. International politics, don't you just wish it was in the hands of Sun readers?
@10 I think you'll find we have a number of Civil Servants forward deployed that more than compensates.
@11 Transparency is a quality much to be admired and, you are right, I am not fooling anyone with my factual statements about the real world. Seldom do facts stray into any of your posts.
@12 Joe Bloggs,
ln complete agreance with you, he even sounds fake.
@13 Dod,
JB's posts make a lot of sense, unlike yours.
@2 José Malv,
Of course South Georgia & the SS lslands are ours, NOT yours.
And we are keeping them, so we can us them as bases to exploit British(NOT Argentine)Antarctica.
You didn't think that all that snow & ice(& minerals, coal & oil!)was yours, did you? ha!
You just concentrate on your own land & be grateful that no-one else claims Patagonia.
We were there before you, you know!
@14 Sense that only suits your sensibilities is what's false. As an example of emotional inconsistency we need not go further than the rest of your fact free post. SG&SSI and BAT are British; they belong to UK not the Falkland Islands. In fact the FI also belong to UK so don't abuse the freedom this gives you.
@15 Dod,
Don't bother with your views, mate.
We all know what you are.
Majority of your posts are completely fact free, as is obvious to anyone.
Right, you've had your 2 minutes worth, thats it for people like you. Cheers
@22 Dod,
At least you have sense of humour.
Your sarcastic reply to #21 emerald, brought a smile to my face.
l like constructive sarcasm.
@23 emerald,
