The Argentine government sent a request for the Federal Civil and Commercial Court to re-open the justice system in January, a month in which it is normally on holiday, in order to resolve two key articles regarding the controversial Media law. Read full article

Disclaimer & comment rulesWow! she is desperate to silence Clarin an opposition voice, strange behaviour indeed from a so called democracy :)))
Jan 03rd, 2013 - 08:09 pm - Link - Report abuse 0@ #1. This does all seem a tad desperate and horribly one-sided. Very bizarre behaviour to seek a ruling when the justice machinery is on traditional holidays. Maybe the regime is trying to mitigate the potential bad press when the regime machinery finally fails! Can't be long now.
Jan 03rd, 2013 - 08:27 pm - Link - Report abuse 0how can a head of state a member of the ruling regime actively push for the change of ownership of one of its countries democratic media Clarin to a more obedient servant and still be seen as a Democracy, isnt freedom of speech no longer recogonized in Argentina ?
Jan 03rd, 2013 - 08:50 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Is this what now counts as Democracy in Argentina?, or as i suspect that the Argentine government are looking towards a more suitable order to suit their totalitarian reich?
Can't she judge do another ruling by decree? That's all she ever does anyways.
Jan 03rd, 2013 - 09:03 pm - Link - Report abuse 0She's strange.
Fight on!
Jan 03rd, 2013 - 09:21 pm - Link - Report abuse 0@5 I think you mean 'Fight on Nazis!'.
Jan 03rd, 2013 - 09:26 pm - Link - Report abuse 0That would be better aligned to your typical post.
#1 we all know clarin covered up a lot of the murders by the military junta back in the 70's who's side are you on?
Jan 03rd, 2013 - 09:42 pm - Link - Report abuse 0#3 i think in USA and UK a monopoly is also illegal, i could be wrong.
This is like watching a fight in which one of the contenders gets up in the middle of the break to start punching his adversary, for some reason I can tell that Clarin will not end up in good shape after the next round. No options now since they have reached a point of no return. I didn't think a media monopoly stood a chance against a popular democratically elected government like CFK, don't be fooled by ignorance people CFK is the best president Argentina had in 40 years.
@7 Is she better than that well known sychophant of Hitler, Peron?
Jan 03rd, 2013 - 09:51 pm - Link - Report abuse 0You know, I am wondering if Crissy is so nutty right now because Chavez is almost dead?
Jan 03rd, 2013 - 10:28 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Seems like she is absolutely losing her mind...
She has outlived Four of the Four most important men in her life: Uncle Adolf, Peron, Nestor and now nearly Comrade Chavez.
Jan 03rd, 2013 - 10:40 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Pretty much goes with what you said then.
@7
Jan 04th, 2013 - 12:02 am - Link - Report abuse 0There is no reliable press in the USA or the UK. The UK has always been the laughing stock of the world in terms of media integrity and seriousness.... the USA used to have decent outlets but the newspapers are all now political activist fronts, and the cable news channels loudhorns for the ideological fringes of the two ossified parties (which have wacky fringes that run these news networks, and a moderate center that cocktail with each other on friday nights).
There is nothing that these countries could teach Argentina about freedom of the press, there is no press there.
Whats the rush? slowly slowly chachee monkey!
Jan 04th, 2013 - 08:20 am - Link - Report abuse 0@ 11 - is that why the UN registers press freedom in the UK as being number 28 in the world whereas it registers Argentina as number 48? Is it the law that all Argentine's have to lie and cheat? ( Fernandez, Maradona, Galtieri, Timmerman, just to name a few) http://en.rsf.org/press-freedom-index-2011-2012,1043.html
Jan 04th, 2013 - 10:52 am - Link - Report abuse 0@7 I seriously think you might change your mind if you gather the courage to come back to Argentina. Your diecast models of Hitler's Mercedes Benz would cost triple and take at least 3 months to arrive, and those posters of Stalin, and Gaddafi, too. Assuming that you're planning on working, which I doubt, you would see larger amounts taken from your earnings than in Canada, only to be given to hedonistic criminal yahoos.
Jan 04th, 2013 - 11:35 am - Link - Report abuse 0The only people that love her as much as you do make an all you can rape, kill, and steal buffet out of the situation with the police and lower courts here. Did you not see all 4 police in Bariloche defeated by rocks? Of course, if she gets control of the press, they can simply not publish a word about it, and publish rave reviews of Nestor's movie, statue, and who knows there might even be a theme park planned in his honor.
Caligula Kirchner has an expiration date. I give her a year.

Jan 04th, 2013 - 04:50 pm - Link - Report abuse 0We lie and cheat with you. You deserve no better behavior from us.
@16 by your use of the word 'us' you seem to suggest that your (argentines) behaviour is coordinated to achieve some kind of aim, and ultimately you are responsible for these aims and behaviours. That would make them aligned with the wishes of KFC through choice and make you a supporter of her political decisions.
Jan 04th, 2013 - 05:07 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Interesting.
@7 - you think that Cuntina is the best President you've had in 40 years? Try telling that to the Argentine people who protest against her government. I particuarly like the guy on the video who says - and I quote - I am an intelligent person but I am tired of this government's lies and corruption. I think you're the one who is ignorant as you can't see the truth although it's starring you in the face!!! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/southamerica/argentina/9665977/Hundreds-of-thousands-protest-against-Argentinas-Cristina-Kirchner.html
Jan 04th, 2013 - 05:12 pm - Link - Report abuse 0We've cheated and lied to you well before CFK. That's the only language you understand, as the world (except Argentina since we repelled you three times from our mainland), sadly came to learn for 400 years.
Jan 04th, 2013 - 05:12 pm - Link - Report abuse 0and you also cheat and lie to the IMF about your inflation - you forgot to mention that bit too huh?
Jan 04th, 2013 - 05:15 pm - Link - Report abuse 0@20
Jan 04th, 2013 - 05:16 pm - Link - Report abuse 0They lied and cheated to us first. And that's a fact.
I am prepared to accept that as a fact if you give examples. But you've basically admitted to everyone on this page that the argentine government lies and cheats to it's people - at least this conversation is going somewhere now.
Jan 04th, 2013 - 05:20 pm - Link - Report abuse 0@21 Sorry, but did you just say the IMF lied to you first?
Jan 04th, 2013 - 05:22 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Shed - time it seems that he did say that, this is why I asked him to give examples to prove his statement. Can he do it do you think??
Jan 04th, 2013 - 05:23 pm - Link - Report abuse 0@23 the magic 8-ball says 'very unlikely'.

Jan 04th, 2013 - 10:51 pm - Link - Report abuse 0since we repelled you three times from our mainland
Three times since 1853?
@27 does the number go up by one every time someone writes about it? It'll be four times next, and the dates will have changed again.
Jan 04th, 2013 - 10:59 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I think that Argentines know that since the 19th century, they could have been one of the worlds great economies and powers, but they've fucked it up time and time again and they are looking for someone to blame - the IMF, the UK, the USA - the list continues.... but they don't seem to be so good at realising the truth - they're a backwards country through their fault alone!
