Ah that old militarizing carp again when 150 soldiers relieve the other 150 soldiers who have done thier tour and missed Christmas and New Year at home with thier loved ones. The clue is in the statement “ROUTINE TOUR” the same “ROUTINE TOURS” that have been happening for three decades now, same as the warships “ROUTINE DEPLOYMENTS” and the “ROUTINE MISSLE FIRINGS and exercises”. What a bunch of no hopers. Stop clutching at straws, people are laughing at you.

Yes, the worldwide scoop on this broken by the Nottingham Post, well done to all the Pullitzer prize winners there.

Still, this was a tub thumping exercise from the loony leader of a dysfunctional country. I suppose this was almost reserved compared to what she could have said.

I have read the article in the Nottingham post and it doesn't mention ADDITIONAL troops, what it says is” this is a routine tour that we have known about for some time, some members of the company are already on the islands (this will be to conduct a handover with the troops they are relieving (makes sense)). The rest of the company will leave in the next two weeks”. The troops being relived will probably return home on the same aircraft so an advanced party for handover is necessary. Not rocket science is it?.........well obviously it is for CFK and tinman. Whoops I shouldn't have mentioned rockets ;)

It should have read “to celebrate the returning of the boat that was taken from Argentina because of one of their many recurring fuckups, CFK made a deranged speech about a completely non-related subject. As the only people attending were mental nutcases who would scream if she farted and said it was in the best interests of the nation, she also went on to complain that her local chemists didn't stock her favourite shade of lipstick anymore and that she now had to pay for plastic bags whereas in previous years they were free. A statement has been issued to the UN in support of this.”

“Fernández de Kirchner ... stressed the fact that Argentina paid over 11 billion dollars of debt in 2012, and that the December payment was the the single highest payment to private bondholders since the December 2001 default.”

So she's stressing the fact that sometimes, when pushed, she'll do what's legally obliged of her?? That's big of her, cue shitloads of banks rushing to lend her cash now, what a dick.

The rest of the world's government must be p!ssing themselves laughing at Argentina right now. “Oh look thevBritish are sending 150 soldiers to replace another 150 soldiers on a routine deployment, and Argentina are sh!tting themselves. Ooh 150 British soldiers keeping the entire armed forces of Argentina at bay.”

No wonder CFK and her government are considered weak by the ret of the worlds leaders (including her good buddy Chavez).

@16 On closer examination of the picture, I believe the Argentines are testing a biological weapon here and plan to use it against the Falklands. I think the UN should be informed and our troops should be on standby to undertake a 'search and destroy' mission for their chemical weapon stockpiles, as we did in Iraq.

It was predictable even whilst the Libertad was in hock in Ghana that when that vessel returned home, CFK would divert attention away from the international embarrasment of that situation for her, personally, by thumping her, somewhat dented, drum on her Falklands Syndrome.
There are several instances in history where leaders have become victims of their own propaganda.

I can't help but chuckle, if the UK has been sending 2 warships and 3 companies of troops (assum 150 people per company) per year to the Falklands for the last 30 years then logically the size of the garrison must be 60 warships and 90 infantry companies (so 13,500 troops), which is quite an achievement. Especially as the Royal Navy only has 67 commissioned surface ships of all types.

Still, I suppose that on the INDEC scale of mathematical moronicness then this is just about fesiable.

In an act of naked an unprovked aggression against the Republic of Argentina, the Government of the UK has announced that it will be sending a Company of soldiers to defend inhabitants of the Falkland Islands. The president of the Republic has called for an immediate meeting of the General Council of the United Nations. She will be postponing her scheduled tour of the UEA and Vietnam to attend in person. The President stated, “This naked imperialistic, colonial, unprovoked aggression must not be allowed to pass off unchallenged. The Republic of Argentina, acutely aware of it's position as a world, must act on behalf all mankind to underscore, that miitarisation in all it's ugly forms, must be challenged wherever it appears. I think the only question we need answered now is:

“which african dictator is CFK the reincarnation of?”

I mean, Mugabe is still alive, so it can't really be him.

Idi Amin only died in 2003, this bint likely started her decline into megalomaniacal insanity long before then.

Likewise Laurent Kabila, he only died in 2001.

Personally I think the personality most likely to have taken control of her brain is Fransisco Nguema, late president-for-life of Equatorial Guinea. Equatorial Guinea was an ex-Spanish Colony (hmmm? I wonder who else used to be owned by spain?).

He had the usual post-colonial mindset of blind hatred for anything associated with “the west” or “europe” (which in this case involved modern medicine and electricity), and used this concept to essentially destroy the national infrastructure (sounds familiar eh?).

He had his own workers party, his own personal militia (La Campora, anyone?). He instituted total control of the press (Clarin?).

Under his regime, EG became known as “the Dachau of africa”. Quite a lot of SS men and concentration camp guards ended up in Argentina after the war, ironic eh?

So yeah, he died in 1979, I bet if you look at CFK's medical records you can see evidence of her mental state starting to deteriorate around this time...

    :)

    @46 - gustbury

So what you are saying is that Argentina is absolutely terrified of 1,200 British Military personnel, who won't do anything unless Argentina is stupid enough to attack the Falklands?

My, my, what a terribles weak and feeble country Argentina must be to always be so afraid of someone who takes no notice of you 99% of the time, and 1% of the time reminds you that they are still there and not to try something stupid.

Pathetic, gustbury, you must be so proud come from a country full of cowards.

But then again, you don't actually speak for the Argentine people, do you? Just the Nazi elite, who can barely string a sentence together let alone think for themselves.

The majority of Argentines would, I think, not be afraid of the British troops on the Falklands, as they know they would not act aggressively towards Argentina.

The rest of South America are p!ssing themselves laughing at how weak and pathetic your president sounds.

Tell me, have Uruguay 'sighted' any more nuclear subs off their coast? That was a funny trick the Uruguayan government played on Argentina last year, wasn't it.

Tell your deluded President that they had spotted a British sub, then sit back with their feet up and some popcorn and watch the show as your president panics and starts screeching at the top of her voice.

Face it, your beloved President has made Argentina the butt of everyone else's joke. The rest of the world see Argentina as a joke run by a bunch of clowns.

  • Conqueror

I don't think CFK understands “military threats”. For instance “All 64 of our nuclear ICBMs are targeted on Argentina” is a military threat. In fact, only about 8 of our nuclear ICBMs are targeted on argieland and 4 of those are specific to the Casa Rosada and other places CFK is likely to be. (For anybody who thinks otherwise, not a single British nuclear ICBM is under any sort of control by the United States. Although we might tell them, later, that we've fired.) Another “military threat” might be “All British nuclear-powered submarines spend a minimum of 3 months off the coast of Argentina with all their Tomahawk cruise missiles targeted on suitable locations.” Given the “first wave” capability of 270 missiles, “suitable locations” can be interpreted as centres of cities, infrastructure, nuclear power stations and military targets. Yet another “military threat” might be “The Royal Air Force will undertake an ”exercise“ where aircraft armed with every form of live ordnance will overfly Argentine airspace in order to demonstrate the ease with which a third-rate country can be negated.” Another possibility is “RAF strike aircraft will complete an armed ”exercise“ showing the ease with which a dictator can be eliminated.” Other “exercises” might demonstrate how quickly the 1st Armoured Division can complete an amphibious landing. How quickly the RAF can wipe out an opposing third-rate air force. Another suitable “exercise” might be for demonstrating the effectiveness of Apache helicopter gunships or various methods of sinking a pitiful “navy”. These are “military threats”. Britain hasn't made any. It has simply said that it will defend its territory. If tens of thousands of argies die in the process of that defence, what is that to us? If argieland doesn't take any hostile action, it will be safe. On the other hand......

The Falkland Islands have NEVER been Argentine, so it impossible for someone to be born there to be Argentine, unless they emigrate to Argentina. No the Islanders are NOT Argentine and never will be. They are Falkland Islanders AND British.

You don't have to be born in a place to have that nationality, but knowing the standard of education in Argentina, I doubt you know or can even understand that. Just like flying a pregnant woman out to the antarctic to give birth doesn't make the antarctic Argentine. In fact by your argument, that baby should be British, as the British claim predates Argentina's by more than 40 years. So the birthplace of that child should probably read “Queen Elizabeth Land”. :)))

By the way, gustbury, are you still scared that those nasty 150 British soldiers are going to invade and take over Argentina? Are you wetting yourself with fear.

    question:
is The UK attacking or has stated it is attacking Argentina?
Answer: NO, yet you call the UK aggressors, please explain, as all The Uk has ever stated is that it will DEFEND the Falklands.

which leads me to the main question, if You call The UK aggressors for defending their people from any attack then what would a backward retard call argentinas blatant act of unprovoked war in 1982??

and how would you explain argentinas defence mincers outburst that if it wasnt for the UK armed forces stationed in The Falklands, Argentina would already have invaded The Falklands?, clearly colonizing against the islanders wishes, justifying every right to routinely station and rotate a defence force for the protection of the islands.

I think all the Rgs are getting seriously crazy right now. CFK wants them to get a 16-20% raise this year. They all know inflation was 30% last year and is going to be at LEAST 36% in 2013. So their buying power has shrink by almost 1/2 in just 2 years.

BCRA said the peso will be depreciated another 18-20% in 2013!!!

Psst, I bet it is more.

Remember 36% is a generalized/blended inflation rate, so the 160% their taxes went up, or the 50% that the gas went up or the 60% sugar that went up or or or or... all those ors could make someones individual inflation rate much much much higher than the 36% everyone is expecting.

If david cameron thinks that argentina might invade the islands again, which justifies the huge militarization of the south atlantic, it means that he doesn't interpret correctly the actual politic scenario from south america. If he thinks that c. f. k. will be so stupid to order a new invasion to the islands, he should know that he's underestimating c. f. k., because she's not galtieri, and she won't fall in any of the provocations that cameron's govt. commits every time it decides to send more toops, submarines, ships, etc etc. Beyond those cheap provocations, cameron should take into account that argentina will continue taking it's claim just in a peaceful way.
If c. f. k., and her husband ex president nestor kirchner thought that the solution to the conflict must be militar, they would use part of the huge economic growth, in order to militarize the country more and more, however, it didn't happen in absolut.
Respecting the debate about the right to self determination, it must be said that the u. n has never included the govt. from the islands as a third part, all the resolutions just asked arg. and the u. k. to resume the negotiations, to find a peaceful solution.
Anyway, beyond what the u. n. manifests, i have always thought that our govt. should include also the govt. from the islands in the proposal of dialogue that it asks the u. k.
In the case of the u. k. and the islanders, both have never accepted to discusss about the sovereignty, which is the main problem.
Both should realise once and for all that dicussing about the sovereignty, doesn't implicate in absolut a total cession of sovereignty to arg., however, it's not imposible to find a solution that respects the wishes of the islanders, and the rights of arg., like what c. f. k expessesed before the u. n., when she read a secret document from our chancery of 1974, which was being discussed between both govt.
Accepted or not, the three parts of the conflict aren't acting correctly.

    @88 - axel

Given Argentinas past record of NEVER sticking to an agreement, why should the British trust Argentina when you say you won't invade? Only last year your defence minister said that the ONLY thing stopping Argentina from invading the Falklands was the British Garrison stationed there.

I know that the Argentine government hopes that the British are as stupid and gullible as mindless thugs that support them, but we have a saying in Britain: “Once bitten, twice shy.”

We trusted Argentina not to invade our Islands once, and it cost nearly 1,000 people their lives, most of them were Argentinian.

When you say “Both should realise once and for all that dicussing about the sovereignty, doesn't implicate in absolut a total cession of sovereignty to arg., however, it's not imposible to find a solution that respects the wishes of the islanders, and the rights of arg.” you make some incorrect assumptions.

    1. The Argentine constitution states that NOTHING LESS than TOTAL sovereignty over the Islands is acceptable to you.
    2. The Islanders wish to remain British and free from Argentine interference, although they have OFFERED to talk to Argentina regarding cooperation in issues of mutual benefit. The Argentine government has REFUSED to talk to them.
    3. Argentina has NO rights over the Falkland Islands. The Falkland Islands community dates to the 1820's, their descendants live on the Islands today. The Republic of Argentina didn't exist until 1853. Prior to this you were no a country, just a group of not-so-United Provinces, which eventually dis-united into Argentina and Uruguay.
    4. The UN Charter states that all people have the right to determine their own future and allegiance. That trumps all the lies that Argentina has been telling yourselves and the world since 1965.
    5. Argentina BROKE all UNGA resolutions by invading the Islands in 1982, meaning that the UK is under no obligation to speak to Argentina about anything, unless the Falkland Islanders wish us to.

@88 CFK's own people have said that the only reason they don't invade the Falkland is that this time there are a lot of people there who will shoot back.

As for the UN saying that the Islanders are not part of the formula for discussions, that's just yet another reason to dissolve C24 -- they have more delusions of being a Great White (or Great Blue) father than the so called colonialists they cite to keep their racket going. In any case, the UK has every right to come to the table, introduce the FIG then sit in the back row, open up their laptops and spend what will be a very short negotiation looking at pictures of cats saying silly things. (And they will be able to brag about being the most productive people in the room.)

    @axel

You are discussing a NON-binding UN Resolution from 1965, based on their understanding if the situation at that time.

It is now 50 years later. Much has changed in that period of time.
Not least, your military invasion of the Falklands, occupation of those lands, subjugation and internment of the civilian population, and deportation (eviction) of those you considered politically outspoken, and therefore, 'undesirable'.

That certainly was contrary to the spirit of the UN Resolution. You disregarded it, entirely.

Since the British liberated the Falkland Island inhabitants and returned them to their homes, they have become a self-governing population of Falkland Islanders, a people with 200 years of history on those islands, exclusive of Argentine society or culture, except as it suits them.

Argentina is now waging a war of economics, propaganda, and politics, with the declared aim of taking the Fslklands, but still, disregarding the people who live there and have built their homes and community there for 200 years.

UK, has very clearly stated to CFK that the FI people, themselves have to power to negotiate freely with Argentina, and only them.

The Falklanders have invited Argentina to discuss the future of the Islands.
Negotiations have to start somewhere. Some kind of 'dialogue' as you put it, is required first, but CFK does not even answer them.

Foul ball, on your side of the net, Argentina.

Ho hum, but you know all this anyway - you're just posturing.

Your buying power is 1/2 of what it was 2 years ago against the U$.

I hope you never plan to leave your country those days are long gone and if you are in your 30s will probably never come again.

Why don't you focus your energy on getting someone elected that isn't going to rob you blind and ruin your country. Instead of fretting about something that will never ever happen.

In order to “negotiate a peaceful solution”, Argentina has to offer something, because the UK and the islanders are perfectly happy with today's solution.

So, here is my opening gambit:

    I want:

    1) Argentina to immediately withdraw all claims to the Falkland Islands, south Georgia and the South Sandwich islands
    2) I want the Argentine government to admit that the claims were made up in order to unite the populous against a common foe in times of economic strife.
    3) I want the government of Argentina to immediately make it mandatory that all Argentine schoolchildren are taught both the true history of the Falklands, and the disgusting use of propoganda to indoctrinate them for generations.
    4) I want the Argentine population to immediately withdraw from Patagonia and return it as a homeland for Ameriindians, fully funded by central Argentine Government.

As I understand it, you wish for:

    1) all current Falkland Islanders to leave
    2) the Islands to become a province of Argentina.

So, Let's negotiate...We will stay as we are shall we?

    5) A minimum £1 million payment to every Falkland Islander who was on the Falklands in 1982;
    6) A minimum £1 million payment to every Islander that has been on the Islands during current “sanctions”;
    7) A £2 million payment to the relatives of every Islander that has died between April 1982 and the current date;
    8) Full reparations to the British government for the invasion, the occupation, the war and minefield clearance, estimated at £20 billion plus.
@101 Aww, Simon, never mind. Do you live where there are no malvinistas? Are they a dying breed? Do you wish they were? Would you like to help them to be? Have you thought of becoming a “caped crusader”? After all, if CFK can be a pirate whore, why shouldn't you be what you want?

The Irony is that there would be no need for such a large defence force on the Islands if it were not for the continued threats coming out of Argentina.

Better we keep the forces numbers higher when such threats are made then be caught napping As was the case in 1982.

This time the Islanders are not going to be so easily wooed by their neighbour and no longer trust them because of the events of the past.
Argentina has only one outcome it wants in any type of talks with Britain and that is complete sovereignty nothing less will do. However there is a third party in this issue that the Argentines also do not recognise and that is the Islanders, The very people that live there. People who settled these Islands through pioneering activities not as the Argentine people done by murdering their way into someone else’s homeland.
Why even today we here of indigenous people being murdered in Argentina so what has changed that would make any Falkland islander want to suck up to them.

Argentina has nothing to offer us but hardship which they already bestow upon their own people. We are doing very well for ourselves thank you very much and while once we openly offered our hand of friendship this will not be so readily available to the Argentine powers so long as they refuse to recognise us as a people with humane rights to determine their own future.

So all future deployments for the next 10 years or so, will have mucho Helmand veterans deployed.

Oh we're not upset. Your post didn't make any sense in English (perhaps something was lost in translation). We just like pointing out that when you resort to insults you have already lost the discussion, and if you give insults you have to expect them back, no need for you to get upset.

We have a saying; if you can't stand the heat stay out of the kitchen.

This means, if you don't like being insulted then don't insult others.

By the way, are you still scared of the 150 British troops who are arriving on the Islands on a routine deployment, to replace another 150 troops who are returning to the UK after completing THEIR routine deployment?

I mean if we are removing 150 troops, doesn't that mean we're 'demilitarising' the South Atlantic?

I do feel sorry for you...no wait...no I don't! People like you are what's wrong with Argentina, and why; despite having loads of natural resources; you will remain a poor, third rate country.

Argentina has SERIOUS problems, and it requires SERIOUS people to solve them.

Both you, your government and your beloved CFK fail on all counts, more interested in diverting people's attention away from the problems facing Argentina than actually DEALING with them and doing SOMETHING to solve them.

Even if Argentina magically got the Falklands tomorrow all your problems would still be there, and your government would suddenly start trouble with: Paraguay, Uruguay, Brazil or Chile: over some mythical land dispute where you are the 'victims' of an evil plot by your 'backstabbing' South American 'brothers'.

But still your government wouldn't face the problems.

The Falklands aren't going anywhere; however, Argentina is going...going down the toilet at rapid rate, and CFK has her hand on the flush, and is tugging relentlessly.

“People need more work and less wars”

    Read the following link:

    www.pagina12.com.ar/diario/elpais/1-211350-2013-01-07.html

The National Government repudiated the “militaristic threats” made by the Prime Minister of Britain, David Cameron, who said he was “ready to fight” to maintain colonial rule over the Falkland Islands. The Foreign Ministry issued a statement calling on the Prime Minister to “stop using legitimate and peaceful demands” made by Argentina in international forums “to continue supporting the arms industry, rather than alleviate crisis experiencing social Europe ”.

The response of the Palacio San Martín Britain insists that meets demand “the obligation to accept the resolutions of the United Nations to resolve the matter peacefully Falklands”.

“The aggressiveness of the words of British Prime Minister confirm the complaint filed by the Republic of Argentina to the United Nations about the militarization of the South Atlantic and the possible presence of nuclear weapons introduced by the colonial power,” said Foreign Ministry.

During an interview with the BBC, Cameron said it was “absolutely essential to have jets and troops stationed in the islands,” and stressed that his country “is one of five defense budgets in the world.”

Therefore, the portfolio of Minister Héctor Timerman order British Prime Minister “not use legitimate and peaceful demands” that Argentina was “against the usurpation of part of our territory and against colonialism as an excuse to continue to support the industry of weapons instead of alleviating social crisis currently affecting Europe. ”

@137 Do you understand the term “inaccuracies”? This comment, in relation to yours, is full of “inaccuracies”.

For example, Britain is ready to kill every argie that thinks the sovereignty of the Falkland Islands can be changed by a third-rate, third-world nonentity. Not what you said.

When any latino cesspit can demonstrate Britain's legitimate obligations under non-binding UNGA resolutions, let us know.

As neither Latin America nor South America “owns” the international waters of the South Atlantic, you might want to consider how British vessels sailing in international waters could be criticised. Not that we care.

Given that argieland is a demonstrably belligerent, larcenous, mendacious, war-mongering slime-pit of war criminals, defence is essential.

There is only one individual that “orders” a British Prime Minister. The British Sovereign. A brainless arse-licker from a third-rate, third-world cess-pit isn't even close. Argie faggots, often with names like Raul, may aspire to the level of shit-swallowers. But it is more likely that they will provide suitable facilities for ball-stomping, hanging targets for darts matches, cleaver practice, experience with junior hackshaws and provision of replacement (smaller) billiard balls, nut-cracking practice and where to shove suitable (sharpened) parts of iron railings. Are you a Hitler bend-over boy? Or will anyone do? Not me of course. But how do you feel about a fishing rod? Or the real excitement of the barrel of a double-barrelled shotgun as the triggers are pulled? Bet you'd love it. Not only would you get REAL penetration, but you'd get your cock blasted off as well! What more could you ask?

While I regret turning this into an annex of Flyertalk.com, I can sadly testify that while I have flown next to people who simultaneously thought they were the president and first lady of Argentina, Pill Lady is not CFK not even CFK can hold a passive aggressive candle to her (and neither can “I lost my job and my boyfriend and going back to europe in tatters, I'd be nice if I had someone to watch Sex in the City 2 on the passenger tv with me....” no really she really asked, that is why they make Ambien and hand out scotch on planes). But do try to take comfort in being wrong with the mental image of CFK desperately walking up and down the aisle with her boarding pass telling people in aisle rows, “excuse me that's my husband you're siting next to, can we swap, please?”, “excuse me that's my child you're sitting next to, can we swap, please?”, “excuse me....” This is after being kicked out of first class asking to trade even further down and being told by Pam Ann to go back to coach -- where she belongs.

Seems Pirat-Hunter is at it again (comment 142)

    So kooky it's almost endearing.

So I loved his two links. The first one was for my country:
    www.abc.net.au/environment/articles/2011/12/13/3389001.htm

This article shows how a competent country with little corruption, independent judiciary, stable institutions and a boring government operates. I'll also throw in wealthy with high growth and low inflation.

No heroic speeches by Gillard. Just getting the job done.

It is everything that Argentina could also be without people like CFK ruining it.

Funnily enough, Australia's management of its waters is similar to Falkland's management. I hope they too start burning and sinking any illegal boats from their neighbouring country.

As for the second article, I highly recommend it. axisoflogic.com/artman/publish/Article_64333.shtml

The gist of the article is:
    * Argentina is weak and keeps complaining but no one listens
    * Britain is very strong both militarily and economically and can afford to ignore Argentina
    * Argentina is effectively broke and can't upgrade its military though it relies on importing arms from Britain
*Britain is so rich it can afford to keep upgrading its military and is unassailable by any regional powers in this area.

Now I'm not sure why Pirat-Hunter keeps posting this link considering how devastating it is regarding Argentina's military weakness.

It also accuses Argentina of not taking the case to the ICJ. Which is the same thing asked by many Falkland Islanders and Britons on here.

But the best quote was this:
“Argentina’s claim to sovereignty has yet to be formally recognised”

I'm laughing so hard be sure Pirat-Hinter is continually pasting an article that admits Argentina doesn't have sovereignty over the islands.

Oh and the best part? Pirat-Hunter can't reply to this post or even comment on what I have written because he doesn't talk or reply to homosexuals. Can't have him reading the rantings of a gay man now can we.

@Malvinero1 (#) It's quite obvious when you make your wild comments you are clearly talking about a homeland you do not or can not live in for what ever reason, you have a leader who almost single handly (with the help of her dead husband Nazi Nestor) sent Argentina into a downward spiral financially and politcally ,a counrty in dispute with more organisations than any other country in the world a country that as to be warned by organisations for submitting false and inacurate accounting, a country that as to think twice of moving it's state assets beyond it's borders for fear of being im pounded by bailiffs for none payment of debts,a country who's surely soon to be diagnosed mental president instructs her country to avoid doing business with British companys yet then goes and hires a luxury British jet to fly her around the word.
When you use the word DELUDED then please associate it rightly to the person and country it truly belongs to Cristina Kirchner and Argentina two far more worthy candidates.

No the Argentine invasion in 1982 was a direct result of the fact that your government had fecked up the economy and were desperately trying to divert the attention of the Argentine public.

You can't have a 'direct' result after more than 100 years. You just make yourself look foolish, just like all your erroneous claims of sovereignty.

Answer this then. In 1850 the Argentine government didn't believe that the Falklands belonged to them.

In fact, Argentina didn't start trying to claim sovereignty of the islands until 1941. That is a gap of 91 years. Sovereignty claims lapse if they are not constantly mentioned, and they certainly do if it is not mentioned AT ALL within 50 years.

So Argentina allowed the sovereignty claim to lapse (such as it was).

Face it in the 21st century only the UN Charter matters. It clearly states that all people have the right to determine their own future.

Argentina may refuse to acknowledge that the Falklanders are people with the same rights as the other 7 billion people on the planet, but the rest of the world doesn't share your views.

Every year that goes by strengthens the Falklanders claim and rights - after all they and their ancestors have lived on the Islands longer than the Republic of Argentina has existed (big mistake there isn't it? No wonder your government won't go to the ICJ, because that's your 1st stumbling block). Argentina's rhetoric is getting old, and every country, and I mean every country, can see your government and their every increasingly bizarre claims, for what they are.

I agree with you, ALL land in South America that was usurped by colonialists since January 1833 should be returned to the rightful owners I.e. the indigenous people.

This would not include the Falkland Islands, as there is no indigenous people, no civilians were expelled, blah blah for the 100th time.

however, it would ABSOLUTELY include Patagonia, where a colonialist power (Argentina) used military agression, murdering an indigenous population to expand their territory.

So, when Argentina returns its borders to those of January 3rd 1833, perhaps we might chat about Onslow...and you'd still be wrong.

    @malvinese 1833.

I have read your document in full. To be honest, it's undermined by the tangents you go off on, and the style is reminiscent of that used by your president - undermine all critics by attacking them, just as the first paragraph of the announcement that they were contracting a British company to provide a jet for the forthcoming tour by attacking Murdoch. All colonial countries did things in the 19th century and 20th century that wouldn't be acceptable today, Argentina included. I don't see what the relevance of the welsh areas of Patagonia, as they are not British. You would find more argentines back living in Europe, using their dual nationality in Spain and Italy. That doesn't make any of those places argentine? By the way, Jewett was a pirate - otherwise the US wouldn't have interviewed. Only 4 civilians left in 1833, as is in the documents in you national archives, and whether you like it or not, in spite of all your prior claims, the peace treaty of 1850 was tacit acceptance of British sovereignty that really makes all the other treaties and such that you mention before completely irrelevant as it is the most recent treaty between the countries. If it was a mistake for Roca to sign it, that may be the case, but that is life, it is never fair. Ask the indigenous people's of South America who were either wiped out or repressed by the European colonisation of the continent.

I don't think that CFK is the be all and end all to the Falklands dispute. There are many Malvinistas on this forum who can't stand her.
The problem lies within Argentina's education system and how it teaches untruths to their youth. The next Argentine President will probably have just the same views as CFK towards this issue.
Deep down the problem lies with the fact that they got a bloody nose, and don't like it, don't like it one bit at all, and want revenge. The fact that they started the issue is irrelevant, it's more of a Latino pride thing.

@142 Hi, alex. I see that you're as brainless as ever. Argieland has no “claim” to the Falkland Islands based on “territorial integrity”. You should look up what “territorial integrity” actually means. Let's take the FACTS as of 1816. Spain had a single settlement on the Islands. Britain had many. Spain had already admitted British sovereignty (1770-1771). “Argieland” was a colony in rebellion. In 1820, when argieland used a pirate to make its first “claim” , Britain didn't even recognise argieland. When it did “recognise” argieland, for the sake of trade in 1824, did it “recognise” argie sovereignty over the Islands? No, it didn't. Because if the Islands had any “territorial integrity” it was with Britain. Due to the assertion of sovereignty in 1765. In fact, any attempts on breaching “territorial integrity” were made by “argieland” in its various acts of aggression in 1820, 1829 and 1832. Begone!
@147 Why would anybody want to translate argie lies into a proper language? Is it beyond you? Is it axel_arg's drivel?

“Every year that goes by strengthens the Falklanders claim and rights - after all they and their ancestors have lived on the Islands longer than the Republic of Argentina has existed”
A British big lie. So, who protested Lord Palmerston in 1829 if Argentina did not exist?
Then, the flag of that country gave Onslow to Pinedo, if Argentina did not exist?
Ancestors. They came to the islands in 1845 is to say approximately after usurpation. Therefore, says the islanders there before that Argentina is a big lie and I'm sure many islanders know.

These interim claims 1850-1941 (you know the ones that came out of palling up with Hitler) mean nothing, they dropped them in 1850. Plus claims . Most importantly, just as Germany lost all moral claim to the Sudetenland and other ethnically German territories (though they have considerably more substantial justification than the mythology produced by the Argentines) their continued unrepentant celebration exporting of their fascist Dirty War on the Falklands negates any moral claim they have. Losing wars of aggression that you start (and Britain FINISHED the 82 war of aggression started by Argentine fascism) means that you lose the land you put your Nazi-nostalgic jackboots on.

So don't talk about having a chance to meet, that's just pig ignorance and trying to paint a fallacy that Argentina is interested in the desires of the islanders. The verifiable thruth is, they are not.

Your rhetoric is of 'Argentinas want shared sovereignty' 'it's a big step for the islanders' ... when essentially Argentina offers nothing at all, not even an apology for the War of Aggression that they forced on the islanders in 1982.

Pretending that Argentinians are holding out their hands in friendship, whilst softly demanding one-sided negotiation of 'shared sovereignty' over someone else's home when they quite openly show no concern for the rights of anyone on the islands is simply morally abhorrent.

Why should the Falkland Islanders hand over half of their property to someone else just because they demand it?

I mean if someone turned up at your house and demanded half of it you'd tell them to get lost.

The Falkland Islanders have offered to meet and talk to the Argentine government over matter of mutual interest and benefit. YOUR government continually IGNORES them.

As for UN resolutions, the UK has broken NONE. Argentina, however, disregarded all the UNGA resolutions your broken record of a government constantly spouts by INVADING the Falklands in 1982. You then went on to IGNORE a LEGALLY binding UNSC resolution telling you to remove your military forces from the Islands, forcing the UK to make you leave.

Nearly 1000 people died, and each death is the FAULT of Argentina.

So why should the UK or the Falkland Islanders talk to a country that is constantly ignoring UN resolutions, court orders and other international obligations? How can anyone trust a country that NEVER keeps its word?

Argentina has had 30 years to build bridges of trust and friendship with the Falkland Islanders. 30 years to prove that you were not all like the junta.

And what HAS Argentina done in the last 30 years to promote friendship and trust with a people who your military terrorised and threatened to murder?

    Imposed sanctions.
Refused to acknowledge that they exist.
Attempted to damage their fishing industry.
Attempted to damage their oil and gass exploitation.
    Threatened them with invasion.
    Threatened them with ethnic cleansing.
Constantly lie about them on the international stage.
Perform acts of sacriledge on War Memorials.

Is that friendly? Is that likely to engender trust and friendship?

    Of course it isn't.

Malvinese - If Argentina's sovereignty claim is so solid then take it to the International Court of Justice. If you won't do that, then STFU about the Falklands and concentrate on your OWN country which is falling down around your ears.

I think Argentinians think that the all powerful Nestor allowed them to jump onto a new timeline where the Argies didn't lose the War of Aggression.

Sadly this is not the case.

    @202
“201Why not give us the chance to meet?”

Because your president refuses to meet them-the Islanders offered to meet this year, an offer ignored by an ignorant government.

One of their customs is off road driving, another is to use Spanish names for horse riding gear.

Bet the indoctrinated propaganda lessons at Argentine schools don't teach that.

@208 it all went quiet when the Argentines remembered that the Falkland Islanders have been trying to talk to them for years, making their comments look like the ramblings of ignorant fools.

    LEPRECOM. TROY TOMPEST. MONKEY MAGIC.
Sorry for my dely, but i have been studing for all the week and i haven't had enough time to check my i mails.
This is evident that you didn't interpret correctly what i said.
Beyond the stupid phrases that perhaps our defence minister said. There is nothing more important than our constitution, and the resolutions from the decolonization committe. I have never heard our minister defence saying that the only one thing stopping arg. from invading the islands is the british garrison, if he really said that, he coulden't be more imbecill. Anyway, it wouden't be sorprising, if it was just one more distortion of the press.
Respecting our constitution, it says clearly that arg. must recover it's full sovereignty over the archipelago under the respect for the int. right., it doesn't say absolutly anything about the posibility of a new invasion. The phrase full sovereignty, is not so important, because independently of it, the u. n has never asked the u. k to return the islands to arg., in fact it has always asked both nations to find a negotiated solution, so, although the u. k. decides to resume the negotiations with arg., if the islanders manifest that they want to remain under british govt., arg. won't be able to force them to accept our sovereignty only, i have said it in all my comments, however, it's not imposible to find a solution for the sovereignty which satisfies the three parts, like the proposals of 1974 or 1980.
On the other hand, if some of you really think that just arg. omits information respecting the historic facts of this conflict, before the int. press, or before any int. forum, it means that you have been prefectly indoctrinated. Accept it or not, both parts tell just what is convenient for them.
If i decided to investigate, it's because i have never believed in or official history, and you should do the same, instead of buying the tipical official propaganda.

On the Falklands issue, it seems to me that Cameron has sent extra troops and Cristina has commented on it; how is this escalation by HER? Lovely picture though, Cristina looking strong and classy, next to the ship the haters kept assuring us would never make it home =)

    @British_Kirchneri
I think she is looking shabby and desperate! The whole ship incident is a major embarrassment and she is probably on a British plane right now, how laughable. She is escalting the issue by causing as much trouble for the UK as possible and insisting she is going to get the islands off the UK.

Your old bag is heading for a self-inflicted fall with the farmers.

If she is really lucky the majority will NOT sell their crops this coming season and park their farm machinery in the towns to block everything up.

That WILL finish her, and good riddance.
