Surprised the FI hasnt got into the salmon market. Any idea why not? I do appreciate that some environmental problems have occurred in other countries but I think they have mostly been solved

  • The Chilean perspective

Chilean salmon from the pristine waters of the south is by any measure the best tasting health food a human could eat. Loaded with omega 3 and full of deliciousness this delight should not be overlooked by anyone who wants to look after themselves. Try steaming cutlets wrapped in oven paper, first mix olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, salt, pepper and fresh parsley add liberally to the cutlets them wrap them and steam for 10 minutes. Serve with salad or mash potato, or maybe try tabbouleh. MMMMMMMM mighty good eating!!!!

Chileno: Couldnt agree with you more on the culinary qualities of salmon
. In UK its the best value for money you can buy but here in ROU its a luxury item on the menu and difficult to buy in the market so not many folk have tasted it. If it was marketed properly and at a reasonable price a lot more folk would get a taste for it to your benefit

Its a shame they are destroying the world's mackeral stocks to feed the salmon.

I prefer congrio myself esp Congrio a lo Pobre although I don't think that is the healthiest way to eat fish. I often wonder whether I am meant to eat it or climb it.....

Last time I had a fish dish in Uruguay they served up escolar under some other name... not a happy outcome.

Meanwhile Sealord pulls out of RG land http://www.stuff.co.nz/business/industries/8171098/?
