P&O cruise line suspends stops in Argentina, confirms calls in the Falklands
British cruise line operator P&O has scrapped stops in Argentina because of continuing tensions with the country over the Falkland Islands. Two of its vessels will no longer dock at three Argentine port destinations on around-the-world cruises. The decision was taken because there was no guarantee they will be able to dock. I can understand it when the place barely runs and the number of blockades has increased threefold. Tourist do not want to be caught up in all the violence, crime and turmoil. And Argentina is quickly destroying it. This will rip tens of millions of dollars out of the economy. In pesos that will soon be approaching the hundred million mark.
And for what. Some principles. Doubtful. Why can't the Argentines on here see that Argentina is heading for economic collapse again? All the economic figures point to it, but the increased Falklands rhetoric is a dead giveaway.
No use talking about 11% growth when it has collapsed to 0.6%.
No use talking about government social spending when real inflation is 25%
No use talking about lower government debt when hardly anyone is working. (According to MECON Argentina has 16 million people working-compare that to Australia's 11.5 million).

My FI investments have made profits in terms of paper, no. of shares and GBP. Why would my RKH shares be diluted significantly when the co are fully funded to production with an additional cash carry. Also if there is any significant share issue then this raises cash so contributes to the NAV of the company.

You and I know that such a case with any validity will never be presented by your gvt and you are simply deflecting this fact with such statements rticulated above.
In terms of my results I am more than happy to state these as I did for my online tax return (obviously paper loss/gain do not go on this as one hasn't disposed of any assests in that case).
RKH. Cash gain over last 2 yrs is 50k (split between me and the other Dr Beef as I transfer 50% of my holdings to make us of her CGT allowance).
Risk = 15k spent on recent purchases from £1.5 to £1.6. To derisk initial capital at £2.50 (in no rush).
FOGL - paper loss of 7K with inital holding intact after de-risking twice and purchases at recent lows. Holding at 20K worth of shares.
BOR - Paper loss of 5k 75% derisked with initial holding intact and loss down from low of 8k (smallest holding due to risk with no farm in spreaing the risk).
This is my equity position and doesn't include my spread bet activity which is not liable for tax as one does not hold an asset and it is not the my sole source of income.

They'll indoctrinate their kids and grand kids as well. So generations of bitter and twisted losers will grow up dreaming of getting the islands. A place they've never seen let alone visited. And as you can see by Malvi's post, they don't even think they like the islands. Poor Malvi's forgotten why he wants the islands. He just knows his deadbeat older family members treat him more like a grown up if he says MALVINAS SON ARGENTINAS every now and again.
Luckily the majority of Argentines aren't like this.

In the long term, the improvements to their berthing facilities will make it easier for those same ships in the future, as well as servicing the tankers that will be coming in just a few years.
A very positive story, indeed !
