Sorry chaps! no good looking for the Argentine yellow belly arse warbler. They have not been seen on the Islands since 1982. Experts do not expect to see them there ever again. Sorryyyyyy!!!!!!

Today's headlines...:

Tomorrows headlines...:

Think, think, think.... It's the weekend mate! Chill and indulge people their stamp collecting and bird watching hobbies. On Monday, 8am sharp, we can resume our donkey canneloni and argentine socio-economic collapse day jobs. :)
On the subject birds, one was seen flying upside over BA a few weeks weeks ago. The phenomenon has increased, and now whole flockshave been seen flying upside down but only within the bordersof Argentina.
World experts are baffled, but scientists in surrounding SA countries are not at all surprised. Even birds it seems, are of the opinion that the place is not worth shitting on.
These birds were all desperate to cross the border out of Argentina. With bird experts in the South Atlantic they do not want to be labled the Argentine anything. Chilean Flamingo they dont mind. Uraguay Spoonbill is fine. But please dont land me with a name like @1 has suggested. Get us out of here.
In 2012, the Falkland' s stand at Birdfair was really busy with a great deal of interest in the natural history of the Islands
I see that Chile will have a rep. at Birdfair 2013.
Last year I talked with one of the Chilean reps. about combining a bird watching visit to the Falklands with Chile. I thought that the logistics would be difficult but using LAN flights would be easy.
Although not a cheap trip, compared with the MOD's costs of flying to the Falkands, quite reasonable.
Apart from the Falklands as a one off destination, I think that combined with Chile, it would have a great potential.
Although the trips originate in the UK they are joined by birdwatchers from Europe and the USA for specialist destinations such as this.
In 2012, I spoke with some charming and helpful people from the Argentinian tourist board about Argentina/Falklands visit. They again assured me that this could be arranged without a fuss. I was reasonably enthusiastic about this and took away literature and costings. Then CFK started the nonsense and that put paid to that. I am sure that a lot of business was lost over this and Chile will benefit.
