Only way forward really. Brazil is so large that I've never really understood why it restricted itself so much, pandering to any other SA countries when dealing with the rest of the world.

Oh yes Brazil, “extreme position of Argentina”?

Why does Latin America complain about Argentina's extreme position?

Could it be because we KNOW who YOU are dealing with?

We know the Europeans, we know the North Americans, the Chinese. They are consumate cheaters, and are out to destroy your industries and agriculture. That is why we are intransigent and that is why we forbid the rest of Latin American from signing trade deals.

But we can't make you follow our foreign policy forever, so if you want to destroy your economies, go ahead. Just remember you will NEVER grow wealthy by singing free trade with the UE, EU, China. NEVER.

Just listen to the ravings of this juvenile lunatic!

“That is why we are intransigent and that is why we forbid the rest of Latin American from signing trade deals. ”

“Forbid the rest of Latin America.” Oh dear, oh dear!

I am sure the Brazilians are quaking in their boots at the thought of upsetting these arrogant has beens.

Forbid! That's a good one. Up there with their other favourite, Demand!

Got to love them. Hours of entertainment. LMAO.

    @6 Reality Check

Yes interesting that Argentina (in the minds of some Argentineans) is forbidding other Latin American countries from signing trade deals. But what do you expect when this is their worldview:
“Just remember you will NEVER grow wealthy by singing free trade with the UE, EU, China. NEVER”

NEVER appeared twice and was capitalised for emphasis.

Someone obviously forgot to tell Chile:
    China-Chile free trade agreement
European Free Trade Association-Chile free trade agreement
    Australia-Chile Free Trade Agreement
    Canada–Chile Free Trade Agreement
    European Union-Chile free trade agreement
    United States-Chile Free Trade Agreement.

Chile should know better. You can NEVER grow wealthy with all these signed agreements. And yet they are wealthier than Argentina!

    Next theory please!

Chile trades with 45+ countries and is diversifying more. They are set to be the first developed country in South America. They have some social and basic wage issues to address but I am betting they will get there.

As many clear thinking Argentines have said, “We needed the economic reforms of the Pinochet era”, though obviously not the dictatorship.

Brazil is a non competitive country that is why they push Venezuela inside in Mercosur the business community is against Mercosur .
Mercosur is an ideological organization taken over by an agenda(socialist –communist) run by all the thugs from Bolivarian countries.

So Brazil cant sign any Free Trade Agreements unless it applies to the whole of the Mercosur trading group of countries, Well Welcome to our World, we cant sign FTA's either thanks to the noose from the EU around our necks. The EU economy is imploding but hey we have to stay sat on the deck no use of any lifeboats while the Titanic goes down!

Mercosul need to stop with politics. This deal is about economy. Argentina and Venezuela need more “abertura”. We dont can miss the historic train! Free trade with USA and NAFTA, with África too!

    Good for Brazil !!

Jealous Argentina just wants to pull everyone else down with it.

    Looks like Mercosur is finished:

    - Brazil feeling hampered and confined
    - Paraguay out - looking for new alliances
    - Venezuela - New direction, historic changes coming with Chavez gone
    - Chile paying lip service
    - Argentina restricting/taxing imports and exports, agricultural products not reliably regulated, cannot meet financial commitments

Why let Argentina screw it up for everyone else, just for her vanity?

For God's sake, get rid of Argentina
the nations of South America are destroying themselves and being destroyed by associating with this self-destructive country.
Don't let yourselves be taken down, you are worth more than that.

MercoSur will be gone soon enough, I see Uruguay and Brazil pulling out shortly and signing FTA with the USA.
No one cares what Argentina, Venezuela, Ecuador or Bolivia do. All of their economies are failing, they're run by Presidents for Life, rampant corruption and scofflaws. They don't bring anything to the table and should be left to their own devices.
    Bye Bye and good riddance.

Anglotino: Chile is an “Associate Member” of MERCOSUR/MERCOSUL and, as such, is permitted to negotiate separate trade agreements. “Full” members are prohibited from negotiating independent trade agreements outside the Block.

I'm aware of that. I was just highlighting a flawed theory. Chile's Pacific Alliance is much more outward looking and it is interesting to note that the growth rates in Pacific Alliance members is so high.

    Outward looking not inward looking!

We should be finding out soon enough

I wonder when Ford and GM will pack up?
    Probably when inflation reaches 100%
    So sometime next year

HAHAHAHAHA! Just got this wonderful link on an e-mail.

This is a great website for everyone to see the top of the line thinkers and science in the USA today:

    http://www.godsaidmansaid.com/

    Top American science stories:

    Complaining turns Brain to mush

“God is disgusted with complainers. Complaining, murmuring, and negative speaking are all done in the devil's language and this conversation is harmful to those who utter them, as their Brain becomes a slime of mush.”

Why Black men are black, White men are White and Chinese have “slanted” eyes:

“ For example, it is the reason the Chinese have slanted eyes. The group of people who began speaking Chinese at the Tower of Babel could only understand one another. These people liked women with slanted eyes and after some generations they all developed slanted eyes”

    Dances with Dinos

“For it is revealed to us by Job that our ancestors domesticated and took economic advantage of these Godly beasts. The longevity of the ancient patriarchs, those close to the line of Adam and Eve, was extended for longer than otherwise possible by the protein they took from these wondrous lizards.”

Keep it up USA... you are on the good path to further greatness! bAhahahahaha

I am pretty sure they have hit the nail on the head with that one.

I just do not understand why Dilma keeps so tight with TMBOA and Dead Man Not Walking and seems to be afraid to 'upset' them when what they really need is chucking out of Mercosur or Brazil and Uruguay leaving.

Probably best if it is the latter.

Looks like Mercosur is holding all the members to the “lowest common denominator”. In this case, Argentina is emerging to fill that role.

Eventually, Brazil will get frustrated and leave, due to internal pressures, political or economic.
