Unions at Spain's flagship airline Iberia began a second week of strikes on Monday, with 1.300 flights canceled and most passengers re-assigned to other flights. Iberia and three smaller airlines that it provides with ground services -- Iberia Express, Vueling and Air Nostrum --- have been impacted by the action, an Iberia spokesman said. Read full article

And what will they be doing during this strike,

eating their easter eggs no doubt,

fight for your jobs, you may not get another one,

but you can bet ya bottom dollar that the bosses will be ok.
    just a flying thought.

It's Spanish, it's incompetent, it's useless and it's rude. Let it die!

Willie Walsh carried out an extensive cost cutting exercise on BA shortly before the merger. BA is now profitable. Iberia is hugely inefficient, so WW is trying to impose the same sort of cost cutting measures.

But we all know the attitude of the argies is closely allied to the 'you can't do anything to me' tirade at Iberia.

That may well turn out to be completely untrue if little Willie has his way.

Crap service on Iberia planes anyway.

My heart sank when BA bought (merged) with Iberia. Talking to BA cabin crew, they felt exactly the same. They offer terrible service, if at all.

Before I sold my businesses I spent three years travelling between Manchester / Heathrow and Italy, usually Naples, every week.

I can only say that BA were by far the worst bunch of ignorant beggars on these routes.

Even Air France were better, but transiting via Paris CDG they managed to lose my luggage (as usual).

I guess we all have different experiences. My worst by far have been with American Airlines. But long haul BA has never failed to get me to my destination in comfort, good humour and with luggage. (I have probably cursed it now)

They don't compete with the top airlines but BA certainly beat American and LAN on the long haul routes I use regularly. Iberia also operate on those routes and I do everything to avoid using them. LAN is my second choice on the routes I use regularly. Less privacy in business class but it is relaxed and friendly.
