What? They're not appointing the head of the air stewardesses union to the role of ambassador?
Mar 20th, 2013 - 10:38 am - Link - Report abuse 0Wait, no, we're talking about an ambassador from a relatively sane country.
The reopening of the Embassy was announced before the local change of Government ! The Paraguayan Foreign Secretary met Wiliam Hague recently in London and the UK has considered the actual Government to be completely legal. As have the rest of EU member states plus the USA .We welcome Dr, Jeremy Hobbs with open arms . Paraguay has always maintained very good relations with the UK .

@7 Britworker do have a bit of sense. Air flights from Asuncion to MPA? No way. Any flight has to go through RG airspace and any trade via the Parana River also controlled by Argentina so pipe dreams I think
Mar 29th, 2013 - 06:10 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Paraguay is a very young democracy post Stroessner. Catholic bishops as presidents substantially increasing the infant population in his country. Not a bad idea as they need a few more Paraguayans
