Disclaimer & comment rulesBush and poodle Blair have a lot to answer for - warmongers! The British people came out on the streets to protest in the biggest demo ever in the history of the UK and these Muppets just ignored it. It was just rednecks revenge as far as the US was concerned, revenge for the 9/11 attrocity that wasn't carried out by the people we attacked. The war to eject Sadaam from Kuwait was fair enough, a load of bullies descending on a small defenceless neighbour, but Iraq was not justified, and only a nation that doesn't know the region would be stupid enough to take on the Afghans. Captain America world police was an accurate film.

Apr 02nd, 2013 - 06:37 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Well, who's deflecting now, what a loser.
As I have said many times here, the terrorist will win the war.
Terrorist mount a succesful terrorist attack for $500k.
USA retaliates by spending $6 trillion and basically throwing the next two generations under the bus of austeriry and lower standard of living.
A couple more terrorist attacks, and they will bring the USA into default and bankrupcy. Maybe only one.

Apr 02nd, 2013 - 06:45 pm - Link - Report abuse 0That wasn't terrorism, it was bad policy making that got us spending so much....kinda like how bad policy making gets Argentina defaulting every decade since 1960's.
Maybe one day USA will default, in the distant future........until then, keep enjoying your decade defaults!

Apr 02nd, 2013 - 07:00 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I forgive you, my son.
The 1979 default was just a technical glitch really. The 1933 default was only domestic, the bond holders were Americans, not foreigners, and it was World War debt, everyone back then was defaulting.
So that means the last time USA defaulted was in the 1800's. Care to try again, John failed troll? lol
I wonder, do they accept Iraqi oil as payment?

And id the UK had not invaded Argentinian territory then the Junta would not have had a convenient casus belli. So the reality is that the UK provided the conditions for the Junta to keep power longer than they otherwise would have.
Apr 03rd, 2013 - 01:39 pm - Link - Report abuse 0In addition, from a political point of view, the Junta represented the old ruling oligarchy that was supported by the imperial British in the 19th century and the early 20th century. The Junta was a product of British policy in America.
What are you talking about Hepatia?! Are you insane, brainwashed, or just stupid? Britain had already had control of the Falklands loonnnng before Argentina invaded.

And the net effect of this occupation is to give Argentinian politicians and others some unwarranted legitimacy. Why the UK would want to give this support to these politicians is not clear - especially since the islands will be returned within the next 25 years.

Apr 06th, 2013 - 01:53 pm - Link - Report abuse 0There are many of us who think that AT THE TIME, all this was the right thing to do. Lets see how you would feel knowing there are 3000 innocent lives dead in rubble a mile and a half from your office, and you still have to travel to your office every day.

As you point out the UK has been occupying Argentinian territory for a long time. ?
He pointed out nothing of the sort
Where is this Argentine territory? Not just a name. Please supply LEGAL evidence for this outrageous statement and not the usual 1833 nonsense.
