UK Government Minister Ken Clarke is leading the UK's largest ever Healthcare Technology and Life Sciences delegation to Brazil. Twenty eight companies will travel to Sao Paulo to attend Hospitalar (21 – 24 May), the largest healthcare exhibition in South America, which is expecting to attract around 90,000 visitors – as well as taking part in the trade mission.

The Government minister will lead a trade mission of British companies to Hospitalar to coincide with the Latin American launch of Healthcare UK at the British Consulate in Sao Paulo.

Healthcare UK, a joint initiative between UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) and the NHS Commissioning Board, aims to help international customers from the public and private sectors access the UK’s healthcare expertise and aims to boost the value of the UK’s trade in healthcare products and services.

The trade mission is being organised by Medilink UK alongside its work running the UK Pavilion at Hospitalar on behalf of UKTI.

John Doddrell, British Consul-General in Sao Paulo and Director of UKTI Brazil, said: “With more than 8,000 hospitals and 280,000 doctors, Brazil has a vibrant healthcare sector.

“UK companies have recognised the growth of this market and are now developing innovative products and services which can help meet clinical needs, while also playing a significant role in the management of resources.

“I look forward to welcoming such a large delegation of British companies to Brazil, led by Ken Clarke, who will have the opportunity to explore joint ventures, find local distributors and meet with experts who will help companies navigate the complexities of medical device regulation.”

TPP, a major clinical software company from the UK, will take part in both the exhibition and mission while in Brazil

Frank Hester, TPP Chief Executive and Founder, said: “We have been closely aligned to the global launches of Healthcare UK and look forward to supporting this next launch in Brazil, where we can also promote our innovative SystmOne technology.”

    @1 Dany

Once again you show that your grasp of economics is still as good as your grasp of tactics, that is, non-existant.

What whas CFK doing in the Far East last year, crawling through Vietcong tunnels in Vietnam? Having a holiday at public expense? Well in her case probably.

In business it is beneficial to advertise your products, otherwise how will the customer know what is available?

The UK is advertising itself, and has done a very good job at advertising itself. That is part of a government's remit, to increasing trade and profits for the country. A lesson Argentina should learn and quickly.

It's called 'soft' power, and the UK currently tops the world in this category.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2234726/Britain-tops-global-soft-power-list.html

You see, the Queen's Diamond Jubliee and the Olympics, plus numerous other 'events' run by Britain around the world, is showing the whole world just what we can offer.

Other countries high in the 'soft' power index are the USA and China. Argentina doesn't even make it, because quite frankly, you have no power of any kind, thanks to the inept and clownish antics of your government, such as having your ship impounded, announcing to the world that all you want is talks with the UK then refusing to attend (yes the world did notice that you know, you can lie about it as much as you want but everyone saw what your inept foreign minister did), unable to feed your own people in Antarctica, and so on and so forth.

Other countries are 'using' Argentina to get what they can out of you, and then they'll throw you away like and emtpy can.

Civilized countries who need state of the art medical products.
I am afraid that excludes Argentina as the term “civilized” does not apply. Also, you have no currency of any use outside Argentina.
