The presidential election in Paraguay was clean and transparent.

Shame you can not say the same about how you incorporated Venezuala into your organisation, now can you.

I get the feeling that Mercosur is worried, very worried about the Pacific Alliance, they seem desperate to get them back.

Where were those same good offices, before they suspended Paraguay?

The 'Mercosur ‘good offices’ delegation' is not composed of anybody from Mercosur ... a Mercopress non-seq?
    ................
'From Brazil ..Garcia .. foreign affairs, said that the incorporation of Venezuela as full member of Mercosur is a “non-going-back decision” '

I imagine this is the de facto situation, but it attracts the scorn of the world because of the Machaevellian manner of its inception.
    .....................
'“It does not make sense for Mercosur to accept Paraguay now when it is ruled by a government we consider illegitimate ..” Nunes, Brasil's Foreign Ministry.'

Sigh! Nunes seems to be as big a prat as Patriota. Black is white, right is wrong, and Mercosur seems to be the province of the lunatics in the asylum.
Best for the rest of the world to have no dealings with it until the sanity of the street protests translated into sanity of governance.

“From Brazil Marco Aurelio Garcia the Executive advisor for foreign affairs said that the incorporation of Venezuela as full member of Mercosur is a “non going back decision”, which Paraguay must accept.” Why is this a decision that Paraguay MUST accept? It was an illegitimate decision then. It remains an illegitimate decision now. Paraguay should DEMAND that it be reversed.

“Likewise the spokesperson for the Brazilian Foreign ministry, Tovar da Silva Nunes said that the inauguration of Cartes “eliminates the non-democracy circumstance” in Paraguay.” Pity about the “non-democracy circumstance” in mercosur.

The answer for Paraguay should be simple. Go along to “summit”, wait until they've gone through all “lifting suspension and welcome back” nonsense. Then stand up and state that Paraguay declines to be a member of an illegitimate organisation. Then walk out and go home. The sort of illegality that argieland, Brazil and Uruguay indulged in cannot be allowed to pass. It must be resisted in every way.

I wouldn't even waste my time going to Mercosur if I were Cartes and it is clear that the two twats who went to his home were 'spying' the ground in case of such a decision.

Paraguay has been the innocent victim of a trio of despicable, dastardly morons in the form of Rousseff, Pepe and TMBOA and it should steer clear of the quartet (with Venezuela FFS) in favour of the PA and independent trade agreements.

Raped once should mean no second chance for the rapists.

@4 I see your point BUT think of the effect of the public reporting of Paraguay telling mercosur that it's illegitimate.

Can it be any worse for Paraguay?

At the moment Paraguay is the only one of the five with any credence in the western world.

Brazil is fast going downhill, or to be more precise the western world is waking up at last to hotbed or corruption that is likely to affect their trading relationship.

The ambassadorial reports sent back periodically to the UK means that the Brit. government will be totally aware of the precise corruption status of Brasil AND the effects of the day-to-day steps that Dilma is taking to address the cacophony of corruptions.
