Barcelona striker Lionel Messi, who turned 26 on Monday and is under investigation in Spain for tax fraud allegations, paid €10 million to the Spanish tax authorities to correct tax returns for 2010 and 2011, according to Spanish media reports. Read full article

    LOL @ the obscure comparison of Blair and Messi!!! Seriously? Is that all Argentina has? One unfortunate looking but talented footie player? LOL

    I love that the Argentine economy is in the gutter, the government criminally corrupt, their personal rights are being eroded daily, an unelected group of thugs dictates who can operate a business or not, but at least they have one sportsman who lives and works abroad so contributes nothing to their economy or their sporting arena. That must be the Wikipedia definition of tenuous.

    Let's get this right. Messi and his old man were being investigated for evading €4 million. So he coughed up €10 million. And when he's not booting a ball around a field, he's a crook. How much more does he owe?
