Paraguay president-elect Horacio Cartes made public a strongly supported legal statement rejecting the decision to give the pro-tempore presidency of Mercosur to Venezuela which was approved and confirmed on Friday at the group’s presidential summit in Montevideo, Uruguay. Read full article

Jul 13th, 2013 - 03:11 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Mercosur has no integrity
What would CFK, Maduro, Mujica, Rousseff know about integrity?
Jul 13th, 2013 - 03:56 pm - Link - Report abuse 0In the end......Cartes knows that Paraguay will not be a part of mercosur. But his actions are priceless. This is real politics in action unlike the public crying of bolivarian bumbles that always cry the evil ones are picking on me. He is not making a fool of himself crying the victim, only speaking the truth that mercosur's action were not only illegal by their own rules( sometimes politics is more important than the rule oof law-pepe), but that their actions were also quite undemocratic as those commies are always crying about.
Jul 13th, 2013 - 04:22 pm - Link - Report abuse 0How can the actions of voting venezuela into mercosur be deemed a democratic action if all members were not allowed a voice in a vote? If it were a democratic action, the vote would not have taken place until Paraguay's suspension was terminated.
KICK ASS CARTES
By the same sick logic of Mercosur let’s suspend Russia from the Security Council who always oppose action against Syria so we can sanction Syria.
Jul 13th, 2013 - 04:42 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Treaties have articles to prevent that action or otherwise there will be no treaties! Are the people in South America for real how can entire countries elect such bunch incompetents leaders.
Thats why(regardless how useless the UN can be at times) are somewhat functional versus mercosur which is brain dead. Not even stem cell therapy can help mercosur.
Jul 13th, 2013 - 04:58 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Did I read a post on here about him eating humble pie.
Jul 13th, 2013 - 05:45 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Did'nt taste like that to me!
Lmao
Well done Cartes . You have clearly stated the position of Paraguay . I have nothing to add !
Jul 13th, 2013 - 10:52 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I have to admit that I used to think better of Brazil. Argieland has, of course, been corrupt, criminal, larcenous and mendacious since it descended into the cesspit of Peronism. Uruguay, under Mujica, is a weak, fawning lackey. But I thought Brazil aspired to some sort of honesty. It's what you get when you elect a terrorist to any position of authority!
Jul 14th, 2013 - 01:21 pm - Link - Report abuse 08 Conqueror . We all thought the same ! If you can read the latest edition of the quarterly Brazilian magazine - Politica Externa - in which Rousseffs charming foreign policy advisor ,Marco Aurelio Garcia ,writes an article in which he candidly admits that Brazil was hoping that ex President Lugo would take his country down the Bolivarian route ! It is interesting and clearly shows the political manoeuvring of Mercosur .

Jul 14th, 2013 - 03:53 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Very revealing.
Thank you
No body that is not an active communist country can possibly believe in their heart that communism is better for their people unless the ultimate plan is to keep the poor poor and the controllers powerful and in charge. And they call western democracy oligarchies and wonder they are spied upon. They free world has every right to gather any piece of intelligence so they can to assess these bolivarian nations and what they future holds for they. Yes, of course they can choose any path they wish, as we can choose to spy on them. If they do not like it......fuck 'em, do something or shut up. Crying is not going to change it. You made your communist bed now lie in it.
Jul 14th, 2013 - 05:00 pm - Link - Report abuse 0And BTW, international law is beneath mercosur with the exception that they can demand others to comply with it.
The rule of law both domestic and international must be recognized, respected and complied,.... Take balls to say something like that after fomenting a coup; no matter what you supporters of right wing takeovers want to call it.
Jul 15th, 2013 - 03:16 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Legal Impeachment.
Jul 15th, 2013 - 06:39 pm - Link - Report abuse 012 rylang . Before more nonsense just sit down and read the Paraguayan Constituition 1992 . Impeachment of an incompetent President by Congress is legal .

Jul 15th, 2013 - 09:05 pm - Link - Report abuse 0No wonder you left the States, with your attitude to the law in general and your support for politicians who are best described as 'epsilon - border morons' (© Brave New World) you will fit in very well.
Paraguay had a genuine need to get rid of the flock-shagging Bishop and they did so using their constitution AND that put the shits up the other prats, especially TMBOA and Dilma.
So perhaps Venezuela would suit you better than Uruguay? Borderline genocide, the highest murder rate per capita in SA, that’s a REAL achievement eh? One of the poorest countries in SA (that’s saying something) despite their immense oil wealth but due to Dead Man Now Rotting Chavez sacking all the oil refinery managers and putting his military backers in charge. These cunts can’t even get toilet paper into the country: what chance have they got to run a petro-chemical industry FFS? AND, despite bad mouthing the States (just like you) they STILL have to use American refineries to get their own oil refined for some of the product grades: CAN YOU BEAT THAT?
Don't forget we will have a new President soon, one who asked the States to save this country from the fucking morons in argieland after they blocked the International Bridge and it looked like they were going to invade. Timmurturd denied that of course, well his lips were moving so he must have been lying.
They caused four years of real financial hardship for Uruguay over a lie they perpetuated themselves, so no surprise there.
BUT, I bet you won’t go and join the E-semi-morons of Venezuela though, will you?
Shills for the neo-fascists, God love ya!
